Same applies to just about every other great scorer that's ever stepped on the court; typically the main defender receives help from his teammates. Like it was mentioned above, are you of the opinion that Rodman could guard Shaq, after all he received a ton of help when guarding him?
With Draymond frontin him/pushing him out of post position and the Warriors having a # of active bodies to force him into a tough shot or passing it back out, they'd make him work for his points. I don't think you realize how well Draymond uses wingspan to contest shots either at the rim or out on the perimeter against players who're longer than he is. And the Warriors would happily stay small if Kareem was on the floor, as it would mean they could trade 2s with 3s with the Lakers using Kareem as the main offensive option. I mean if you think he's going to kill that small ball lineup on offense, what about the other end? He ain't chasing around Draymond out on the perimeter and forcing him off the 3-pt line when Draymond drives it to the rim and hits an uncontested layup or passes it out for an open 3-pt shooter when help rotates over.

By saying that they can guard Cap it means they'll do all they and a great team defense can to stop him by trying to create turnovers, making simple entry passes as difficult as possible, trying to force the ball out of his hands by swarming and not ceeding post position. Doesn't mean they'll shut him down I mean he's one of the GOAT's for a reason, but that also doesn't mean it'll be easy for him. They would make him work and earn his baskets. Thats why my point about this discussion has never been just about them guarding Kareem. Its that they won't get dominated to some insane degree (people suggesting 40 & 50 ppg in the original thread) and can expose him on the other end of the floor too if going small. Like if the Warriors catching him in a P&R between Green/Curry is insanely advantageous for their offense.
Maybe Kareem didn't need to always dribble to find post position but he did do so. Few examples where just about all his post up scores involve a dribble if not multiple

Fronting Kareem is just a means to make the entry pass much more difficult than it would be otherwise. It would definitely be hard to stop him from still getting the ball, but it also wouldn't always be successful as deflections can occur whether by Green or the player doing jumping jacks in front of the passer trying to prevent them from making the pass over the top. Just about doing whatever you can to make the Lakers objective on offense as hard as possible.
Rodman definitely can't contain or shutdown Shaq and that video implying such is wrong, just used it to show how team principles + a stout yet undersized post defender can defend against a dominant center. Shaq back then, while young, is as good as Kareem for much of his Laker years and certainly better towards the mid 80's LA runs where his production began to tail off.
And a lot of this also depends on what version of Kareem we're getting here.
