The fact that he beat racketeering and conspiracy is utterly remarkable, a testament to his legal defence, whatever he paid them was a bargain to say the least.

To fall on just two charges of transportation for prostitution and not the sex trafficking is a huge win for his defence, the Mann act is hard to argue against, irrespective of its archaic, historically prejudiced foundations.
