This country is going to continue to get what it deserves until it becomes nothing more than a footnote in history. I can tell a lot of you are going to be taken by surprise when this happens.
America is going to have the honor of watching it's youth suffer immensely. Seriously, some of you will see your children/grandchildren die in horrible ways. Or you'll wish for their deaths, as relief.
You'll look back and say, "We should have gotten in line behind the guy with the juice, like the GOP did with Trump." Policy change that was only openly discussed on the fringes a decade ago is now a strong possibility if not reality in many cases.
The left will always be losers. They have the right ideas but are handicapped because being "right" is more important than seeing your right ideas become a reality in their eyes. The Republicans have the levers of power and a dwindling but rabid base. The Democrats have the "moral high ground," Twitter hot takes and clapbacks, and the vast majority of the population on their side and they can't do a thing with it.
The fact that Trump won in the first place was a reflection of the impotence of the party. The fact that Trump will have four years of unmatched corruption, incompetence, apathy and political malevolence behind him and he even has a SLIGHT chance, let alone the very REAL chance he has at reelection, shows that the Democratic party needs to be blown up and rebuilt from the ground up.

Has to appeal to everyone and at the same time appeal to certain groups. All The Damn Time! Republicans will vote for whoever. They don't mind holding their nose. The Left has to be in love. We aren't in war mode across the board. It comes down to voters.
