Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s lawmaker lover on Tuesday recounted for jurors how she used a fake ID to visit the drug baron while he was in prison in 2014.
Security footage from the jail shows then-Mexican congresswoman Lucero Guadalupe Sanchez Lopez — who appears heavily pregnant — holding up the phony documents before she’s allowed in to see Guzman.
“This was a primarily personal visit, correct?” prosecutor Anthony Nardozzi asked Sanchez in Brooklyn federal court, where Guzman is on trial.

“Yes,” the 29-year-old replied.
The photos of her in the prison were later leaked, leading to her impeachment in September 2016.
The disgraced lawmaker said she and the kingpin corresponded primarily through letters.
One jailhouse note, written to her by Guzman in Spanish, was projected for the jury.
“For my queen, who is love,” begins the love letter, the majority of which was not translated for the jury.
Other exhibits have shown that Guzman also repeatedly referred to his wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro — who was in the gallery Tuesday to watch the testimony unfold — as his “queen.”
“I am answering your letter with great pleasure,” the next line of his letter read. “And with great love.”
Sanchez also said Guzman would make her cards.
“And through other people he would sometimes send me cards with flower arrangements,” she added.
Sanchez was arrested while attempting to cross the US border in June 2017, and agreed to cooperate against Guzman just a month before his trial kicked off last year.
She sobbed on the stand last week, but remained composed during her Tuesday testimony.

Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman and his wife both showed up to the notorious Mexican drug lord’s drug-trafficking trial Tuesday wearing wine-colored velvet blazers.
Guzman walked into Brooklyn federal court wearing a claret-colored velvet smoking jacket, complete with a pocket square and a white unbuttoned shirt with the collar spread.
His beauty-queen wife, Emma Coronel Aispuro, arrived wearing the same velvet hue.
One of Guzman’s former mistresses, Lucero Guadalupe Sanchez Lopez, retook the stand Tuesday.
Damaso Lopez was in charge of La Paz and Los Cabos for a time, that's why those places became so violent after Chapo was arrested in Mazatlan in 2014. Like going from relatively little killings to hundreds in a year.
The blazers are apparently to show solidarity between Emma and Chapo, after the testimony of Lucero Sanchez, one of his mistresses, who was actually arrested in San Diego, 2 years ago, in the CBX cross border airport tunnel.

Colombian drug kinpings dont want to be sent to an american prison, so they rather take a cut from the profit and leave the hardest part to the mexicans, which is bringing the yayo into the US.
As the Medellin, Cali and Norte del Valle cartels fell in Colombia in the 90s and 00s, the drug trade fell into the hands of the marxist guerrillas FARC and ELN and paramilitary groups called AUC, which had already been dealing with drugs sicne the 80s, but this time they would be running the show. AUC and FARC signed peace treaties with the Colombian Government a year ago, settling a 60 year long internal conflict. But many high middle ranking guerrilla officers declined to be included in the peace process and formed their own armies to remain in the drug business.
Now mexican cartels are increasing their presence in Colombia and are building transnational drug operating organizations with the Colombians. This means Colombian drug runners send people to Mexico to launder money and set up shop, and the mexican cartels send people to Colombia to make sure the supply is always there.
What is happening in Mexico right now is what happened in Colombia in the 80s-90s. El Chapo is their Escobar.
But these guys are not the problem, neither are the cokeheads in the US and Europe who keep demand high. The problem is that the war against drugs failed and drugs should be legalized, so the production and consumption are regulated.

Nah i didn't hear of any detailed connection with a mayor from the baja california sur region of mexico...
first time hearing of this..but im not suprised...its been numerous accounts of how corrupt the politcians of that region were
but what i am aware of is that Sinoloa was infamous for selling heavily stepped on bricks....
during the lean times when it was hard for them to secure quality A1 in quantity...
this is a common practice...usually a synthetic blend of lidocaine and benzocaine and a small portion of actual coke ..
alot of this took place once the "war" occured which split the cartel ..Chapo vs. the Beltran Levya family...

dat man had hustling in his veins!Well, yeah, but read the indictment the SD US Attorneys Office charged her with.....It's conspiracy to distribute 5 kilos or more, and that can get you 40 years. She's still torn up over the affair, she was crying on the stand.
And, after her arrest she was charged directly by the Department of Justice in DC, they would have burned her to the ground, if she didn't talk. She probably had to plead to get them to consider her testimony.
