Maybe Brock simply decided to give his friend a W so his son could see him wrestle one time.

This.

Also, maybe all the bytchin folks did about Sting jobbing and WWE being petty for burying WCW talent years after the Monday night wars prompted this.

So in a way maybe they were trying to give y'all what y'all wanted.

Stop trying to juelz.gif an explanation for the WWE's idioic booking decisions

Dumbest thing they've done since ending the streak. Dumber, actually.

I can sum it up in one sentence for you if you'd like: Brock needs a story changeup, and nobody and nothing really got buried because it doesn't work like that and you know it. Explain to me what was dumb about this, and ending the streak for that matter. Brock ended the streak and as a result became a legit unbeatable monster who's a consistent top draw for the company and attracts eyes and attention every time he's in a ring, how's that dumb. And no, 5 years of buildup weren't thrown away because of tonight, same way 21 years weren't thrown away just cuz Taker finally lost. And no, Brock getting beat by a geezer isn't dumb either, because Taker Triple H Sting and whoever were/are stilled billed as formidable threats in their late 40s and 50s.

Granted WWE has to follow this up right before I can say this was a truly good result, but you're working yourself by saying the decision was stupid. A lot of fans seemed to like it too, the arena popped and there's been positive reactions on the Internet.

The ending made sense to me (kayfabe wise)

Goldberg is/was a machine...he squashed people all the time. Hollywood Hogan was the champ and he made easy work of him (again...kayfabe wise) he's always been a straight destroyer

Brock (in the most recent run) has rarely taken damage. Ambrose, etc. aren't real threats to actually pick up Brock and slam him. Also he has had the bout with diverticulitis so two spears directly to the stomach could have "hurt" him enough to keep him down.

either way it was different booking. If Brock goes in there and slams him around and jumps in the middle it looks lazy and boring. I actually :salute: Brock for going with this booking as it shows he isn't just out to protect his image.

If Brock-Ambrose, Brock-Orton never happened then it wouldn't be so bad, but you've basically booked three straight trash Lesnar matches now, and two straight weird endings. Why would anyone pay to see another Brock match at this point.

Especially after last night. Don't even bring that buffoon on TV again.

I thought he didn't give a fukk about his kids though? :troll:

The fact that so many of you are talking about it and want to see what happens next means whatever they were going for worked. Just like they did with summerslam

Wrong. For both matches people were complaining about how short and underwhelming the matches were after so much media hype.

I also like the storytelling aspect of this - Brock finally encounters a challenge, another monster on his level that he can't beat and can't beat easily, someone who made him a victim of the same barbarity and dominance he's shown towards others. Brock gets his comeuppance, and it feels satsifying.

I agree with this, but there is no reason it couldnt be someone else on the roster.

Not much to say except that you're wrong. About everything of course, but especially about any faith you have in WWE to "follow this up right." :heh: Get a clue

The story is that Goldberg has ALWAYS had Brock's number, plus Brock was overconfident and let his guard down going into this match because he's been steamrolling over everyone, while Goldberg was just as intense as ever because Heyman ran his mouth about his family and fans. It's a good story, I have no problems with last night. Brock is gonna win the next one and that'll be the end of it.

:mjlol: What's the point of debating if you're not gonna explain yourself and your reasoning :snoop: What are we doing here if you're just gonna say "na na na you're wrong". Why even post in this thread

Because there is nobody else on the roster. Brock ran through almost every other formidable main eventer. Also look at it from the perspective of whoever beats Goldberg gets the same rub they would get from beating Brock

I feel like this forum thinks only in its little bubble sometimes. You guys forget who is over, who and what fans want to see across the board, what people are actually saying, etc. The next Brock match is still gonna draw massive attention/interest, and the next, and the next, and the next. This match and the last few is not gonna change that. From Bray to Ambrose to Randy to this, people are still hyped to see Brock. Same sentiment being spent here is gonna foam at the mouth for Brock/AJ or Brock/Nakamura if they ever happen

And the reaction to last night wasn't overwhelmingly negative, there's been a lot of opinions from people who say they liked/were at least intrigued by the ending and not mad it. I can't say I totally liked the ending because I'd have to see what they do next, but I'm not mad at it either
