recently a tint shop owner told me he's been trading in and upgrading to new bmw models every 5 to 7 months and beating the depreciation game. i don't think he was giving me a ducktale. he told me it's a business decision and influences his high end customers.
Well, if he wants to do that. He can. He's not telling you the whole story though. Anytime you trade in, you are always eating it. Otherwise, dealers wouldn't be making money. Your friend can say the difference between what he paid for the car and the value he got in the trade in is the expense paid to own the car. So if he paid $700 a month for 6 months, he sees that as an expense and not a loss in depreciation. I'd have to see the numbers.
There are certain jobs where "appearance" affects the kind of clientele you have. Real estate agent is one of them. You don't want to be showing property in a 1992 Pontiac Grand Am with one burgundy-colored, quarter panel and the rest of the car is white. :dahell:

dude told me his business also puts up solar and tint glass shading in upscale homes. don't know if he's taking a loss or breaking even on all those trades.... i would imagine a slight loss.

IMO, the expensive car game is no more b/c you can buy a vehicle now for $20,000 and get the same interior features as cars that cost twice as much.
Nah son it don't work like that. Its about the props lest be real. If money was no option most ain't copping no Toyota over no German car same features or not stop it.

Most, but not nearly all.

Plenty of super rich ppl drive basic cars.

The road/highway doesn't respect which car it beats up.

:what:

How is something like a Honda Accord a POS? Or a new Chevy a POS?

Give me $60,000 right now and I'm buying two regular vehicles rather than a super expensive Mercedes or BMW.

Now we've reached the obtuse part of the discussion. Now you know good and fukking well I don't mean literally you can't be that stupid but just playing so right now. Compared to them other cars they are a pos and its no contest. Of course by themselves they aren't pos but honestly that shouldn't even have to be explained.

Do whatever you want but you aren't the norm esp if you have the money to get your car properly serviced and the like.

I think what he meant was for under $20,000, you can buy an older used car that was the ballz back in the day.
You can get a late 90's or early 2000's BMW 750iL. Back in the "that": time, the 750iL had all high-end interior goodies. Real leather. Real wood trim. Remote-controlled remote controls. Bums did not drive a 750iL. Rich people drove that car: CEOs, music moguls, pro athletes, stock traders, Colombian drug dealers, doctors and lawyers, etc. That car is now old and the body style has been revamped.
Or if that's too dated, you can get a late 2000's Mercedes-Benz S500 for under $20,000. That's like maybe 6 to 8 years old depending on what you get. I would hate to own it though, because then I would become "that guy"... parking 70 feet away into no-man's land at the grocery store so it doesn't get dinged.

This is true. Some rich people just aren't into cars and just see it as a vehicle to go from point A to point B. They'll just have a Toyota Camry. Bebop around town and you wouldn't know they got stacks on stacks.
They live the rich lifestyle in other areas, like they'll have a mansion-like home, or a gigantic yacht or private jet, and have ridiculously stupid money purchases like a $4,000 purse.

If he talking about that I already said I wouldn't do that myself because if you have the paper personally I like to stay with the current body style for them cars and 1 behind at most if I have to. That early 2000's Benz was super hot then and still a good looking car but it don't ring bells like it did back then and that's kind of the point IMO.

This rich people drive relative pos is a wet dream for some I see. Does it make y'all feel better or something? It must because while some do cats thinking anywhere close to the majority of rich cats esp those that are closer in age to us are doing this are beyond stupid. Are we really trying to compare dudes who mainly do this who are 2/3 decades older than us to us younger people? Hell you can just look at old shows like the fabolous life of and see cats that aren't even entertainers aren't driving honda accords type cars like they are Rolls.

Not really. It's just an observation from me. Some rich people don't even have a car. Uber-rich mo-fos in Manhattan just have a chauffeur and limosine to bebop around town.

You going to use NY where rich and regular people alike, don't have a car though? This why I think dudes on that narcotic. Honestly you need better examples but maybe you haven't saw them so you can only speak from limited knowledge. Let me tell you everywhere ain't NY or a place with great transportation so that just like this isn't the norm.
