Stop thinking human terms
I'm not I'm thinking pure logic.
If life evolves naturally it has to be organic in it's initial state. It takes an intelligence to build a non organic life form.
If you have evolved to where you can do interstellar travel you've probably evolved enough to understand the risks of sending organic lifeforms through interstellar space.
There would be no logical reason in THIS universe to not use a surrogate or transfer your consciousness into a non organic vehicle for such travel.
I agree we apply human principals to supposed alien logic too much, but this is logic based off the laws of the universe itself (admittedly as far as we understand it)
There is pretty much 0 benefit to sending you're own organic body on such a venture if you have sufficient technology to get around that.
Now maybe there's alien life that can survive in space like these little Water Bears from earth that are just like fukk it

I mean imagine in a 30 million years these guys are the dominant species
They froze these things for 30 years thawed em out and they woke up. They found some dried up on 100 year old moss hydrated them and they came back to life
They also put them in the vacuum of space for 10 days no food and water and they survived the pressure and radiation
But the fact remains organic tissue is a more risky thing to send through interstellar space as opposed to a surrogate/probe.
