I think people will just become more social. I remember when I was a kid if someone owned the latest console, they'd invite us over to both flex and to enjoy playing with other people.
Parents are not going to have hundreds of dollars to spend on new consoles or games. So basically kids will just keep playing their old consoles.
These days people aren't even buying games like that anymore because
1. Publishers are all trying to recreate the success of fortnite
2. They don't feel like spending money putting out more games each year when one big hit (like GTA 5) can keep their pockets obese for 10+ years.
So i think the free games like marvel rivals, overwatch 2, and apex legends will just keep making money. I think publishers will drop more remasters and remakes too for a cheaper price. Ironically I think that will stimulate demand for the type of games they used to make. See how well expedition 33 and the oblivion remaster have been doing. DBZ sparking Zero is still making money, and doom the dark ages will make tons of money. Demand for new AAA games simply won't be there anymore. Nobody trying to spend hundreds of dollars to play some shyt that's riddled with micro transactions and bugs.

That's why I would be confused about Xbox since the Xbox video game console was created by the American company while Nintendo made in Japan and Playstation made in Japan and China. 100 % excuse for them to increase price

before the pandemic components used to drop in price, hence the drop in system prices. But the pandemic fukked shyt ALL THE WAY up to where component prices arent' dropping nearly as quickly as they used to in the past. And of course every company is using this to justify price increase, shrinkflation, and plain old greed to satisfy shareholders and the rich.

The real hustle was Nintendo never dropping the price on the OG switch and still charging $60 dollars (now $70) for their games years (decades) later.
Nintendo was making hand over first selling the switch for $300 for the past 6 years. Now they are still selling switch 1 launch titles for 70 dollars without dlc
