Y'all might not like but you gotta accept it.

The only reason I consistently bring up the "what I said," type stuff is because of how vigorously dudes want/wanted to claim I'm stanning.

Only for it to turn out just like... :yeshrug:
facts

This is incredibly naive….if anything, we will be the ones removed from the market when all the most popular games are F2P Just like the mobile market. The most played and highest grossing games are the ones no one on here talks about

AAA market will be highly diminished and the new thriving indie market relies on the AAA market for market saturation and funding. People that play roblox and Warzone ain’t waiting around for the new Blue Prince type game Either.

If you or me made this post just a couple months/years ago(which we did) dudes woulda been up in arms in a feverish defense of whatever they thought was happening.

People will always want new shyt.
But people can't always afford "new shyt", and these days the "new shyt" isn't that much different from the old shyt.

When I think about it, I think Microsoft is a bit like Sega in that their approach came a generation too early. Ironic to mention them here when they're beefing up the price of their games.

There strategy recognises that they can't just rely on people being willing to break the bank. They have too much competition from past, cheaper, generations to consider.

I mean they have cost they have to cover. The tariff is 140% they’re not just eating all that. Microsoft doesn’t really care about console hardware past Game Pass because they are on all platforms.

They could have ate some of it, played their hand and moved units against Sony, but infinite growth veils and endless quarterly profit records are just that much more important for the consumer base I guess. :manny:

They only raised the price of an Xbox closer to 20% so they did eat some of it.

You're absolutely right growth and profits are more important than the consumer base. Businesses exist to make their owners money not to take it on the chin for the customer for no reason.
@Wild self

I guess this is what happens when Microsoft doesn't have any competition:skip:
I mean you aren't forced to buy Microsoft hardware to buy their games. I don't really see this as a negative since they'll mostly meet you wherever you are.

Man this might hurt the super causal market even more...I'm not talking about us the people who buy this shyt and will always will play games. I'm talking about your home boy who plays 2k and COD during the winter..or your son or daughter friend who still playing on PS4 or XB1.

Is the average consumer really about to pay $700 or $800 for a ps6 or the next Xbox?

Time will tell but I think the super long console generations are here to stay because if they are coming in with that price I can see the adoption rate being slow like this gen. But PS and Microsoft are probably gonna have to market multiple skus/devices to be the cheaper alternatives like the series S or the rumored Next PSP/Vita ...

It wouldn't be taking it on the chin if the profit for this quarter is somewhat less than last. Is a slightly less saturated shade of green not still green? They could have made up some of it in volume, bulk up some GamePass numbers with an intro trial to help the consumer base in the upcoming shytfest. You know, smarter courting and better use of what is available. Being competitive in the space you're operating in.

But that doesn't please doofy shareholders. :ehh:
