The PS5 Pro is a good price for what you get from a hardware perspective.

The market for it is just very specific.

It’s too expensive for the price conscious consumer which is most of the console market.

And it’s not powerful enough for the people that REALLY care about performce.

It’s fan service for playstations biggest supporters, and that’s ok i guess

I feel like if $100 on a purchase that last a good 7 or so years is a bridge too far for people then they need to be focused on making better moves with their life than buying what’s essentially a toy.

We are talking about $14.28 a year average cost. About $1.20 a month in average cost. People piss away more money on a weekend.

I understand feeling like something you can afford isn’t worth what they’re asking or looking at the price of something and just being unwilling to pay. That’s a different story.

Probably just out of touch because I don’t view $100 or even $1000 as unreasonable for a long term purchase I find value in having.

Sometimes in life you have to make sacrifices to get to a better place. If you’re in 2025 and you look at an additional $100 on a purchase and that’s too much to afford you aren’t living a sustainable life and it will catch up to you. Me saying it or not doesn’t change that. A simple emergency will wipe you out financially.

I guess it’s human to dress up being financially irresponsible though.

In a third world country hell yeah it's a lot of money. I'm talking about the United States of America. $100 is not a lot of money in the US. That's not an argument it's a fact.

The median household income is almost $81K. That means every 2 weeks they're bringing in Approx. $3100 before taxes. $100 is about 3.5% of 2 weeks pay before taxes. If life is that tight that 3.5% of 2 weeks of pay is going to derail you then you are in serious trouble.
