The right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way
I need to watch Part II again it's been a minute, I was a stupid teenager the last time I watched it properly. I rewatched Part I last year and I really liked the semi-grounded approach of how it's standard mob war shyt mostly set in NYC, Don Corleone's home in Long Beach and the chronological detours in Sicily and Vegas.

Trying to remember Part II, we start off in Nevada, we got some Clemenza replacement running shyt in NYC, Michael's in court, we flash back to Vito in Little Italy and there's whatever happened in Cuba with Al Davis Hyman Roth.

I need to watch it again as a grown man.

I vote for 2. Both are great films but i love how part 2 feels. Just a tense ass film.

Plus the backstory of part 2 was interesting, it could have went all the way left.

Brando didn't want to do any flashbacks so he asked for a astronomical amount, they said no, then they relented and he pulled a no show.
Pacino didn't want to do it.
Coppola didnt want to do it.
Clemenza did a Brando, and he was out.
Sonny was out (except for a flashback)
All of the villians from the first movie were dead.

So they cast Deniro and fleshed out the flashback scenes to a prequel of sorts.
They re-wrote the script for Pacino
They convinced Coppola to stay on and increased the budget and salary
Clemenza out, Frankie Five Angels in.
Sonny was out, lets build the story around Fredo and Micheal.
All new villians including Hyman Roth.

Easily part 1.

I just finished the Sicilian today...damn shame that didn't get a proper movie.

Shout out to Salvatore Giuliano .

Man, I saw The Sicilian film director Michael Cimino directed; WTF was up with that?!:snoop:
I refuse to watch it.

There's the Italian movie Salvatore Giuliano and the Sicilian (the American version).

I watched the trailers years ago. I just can't bring myself to watch. The Italian one is much better than the American piece of shyt though. It's all in Italian though.

I read the books every couple of years. About as often as I watch godfather part 1 and 2. Finished the Sicilian again yesterday and started the last don.
