The Hot Boys vs The Lox

So, I'm listening to the new Jalen and Jacoby podcast and they're putting together a greatest hip hop groups of all-time bracket. The shyt that caught me was The Hot Boys being an after thought and not even making the tournament but The Lox not only making the tournament but being cysed by Jalen like they could actually win it.

I'm a fan of both groups. When I was a kid, Sheek was actually my favorite rapper for a second... but Im from the south, so the Hot Boys were my absolute shyt. For perspective sake: Lox had 2 albums, HB's 3..HB's got 3 platinum solo acts, Lox not a one.. Is the Lox's impact that much greater than the Hot Boys? Let me know something..

i'm saying jadakiss is a top notch rapper way better than the other two imo
when you listen to hb cds you listening to the whole song ok maybe you skip turk verses sometimes but i couldn't get into the lox

nobodies verses were skipped by either group.

why the turk hate nowadays? he was better than wayne in the hot boy era.

as for the lox, kiss is the star when theyre together as a group. but when it comes to making music on their own, styles p is clearly the best. and alot of people would put sheek over kiss in that department too.

turk first cd was actually alright to me but lets be real bruh he was the weak link out of the group
i couldn't get into their solo projects to be honest but ive heard people say styles p cd was better than kiss

at least up-top. i dont know how it was down south, but niccas wasnt taking that wobbly-wobbly flow seriously up here unless you were a kid or female.

wayne & baby were the weak-links of the crew. how ironic.

edit: Jalen be rambling like fukk but basically they revealed the seeding in this episode. No.1 seeds are Wu-Tang, Public Enemy, NWA, and RUN-DMC

I was just trippin like "how they get the Lox in there and just tossed the Hot Boys". But I'm biased as shyt so at the same time I was like . Still tho, I grew up in that era. I liked the Lox. But when you got a group with 3 platinum nikkas in it.. (and Wayne was 2xplat even back then)....you can't just throw away the group like they wasn't shyt and cyse The Lox of all groups. Them nikkas made Guerilla Warfare Was nikkas really on MPR and We are the streets like that? As I recall, nope! But again, Im in the south so that bias....still east coast bias is a mofo hence this video. At least UGK, Geto Boys, 8Ball and MJG got in there.

I dont think I can even remember one lox song, styles p yes but the lox as a group, I dont. Hot boys on the other hand especially get it how u live still in rotation on my playlist.

Yep. I was more into Turk than Wayne, but CMR had a whole " year 2000 is all about Wayne" campaign going. Turk was the odd man out alot due to the fact he was just not around most of the time. They replaced him in video versions of songs, he was missing from shows, they would do features without him sometimes. They even waited til everything was falling off to get his solo out there. But Turk admitted he wasn't as focused as the rest of them. Had that monkey on his back awful. Wayne was better than dude tho. I do think people underrate pre-carter Wayne. Dude stole the show on alotta songs back then.
