Lox were more skilled in the 90's, exist today as better rappers with a higher IQ. Plus you know those nikkas didn't go to high school. They went to school high :smugfavre:

Lol it's not popular at all. Wacky i know you're somewhat of a historian and i've grown to respect you. But that shyt you're saying is weak,REAL WEAK.Your lox fascination is based off emotion. You have nothing solid to stand on when it comes to your lox claims. I know you said you were riding with the HB's but you didnt feel it was a "blow out" type situation and the lox deserved more props. DO they really? Let's analyze and compare.
You got B.G: a young nikka whom was sellling 250,000 a project prior to the major deal, not only that he was dropping dope projects back to back and played a huge role in them getting the major deal they got. I had nikkas stepping to me quoting B.G. etc before i knew who he was and i used to kick it with hood rats whom had them records and were quoting the phrases etc prior to me being a fan. He dropped another dope album after the deal.

You got juvey: A nikka that delivered in devastating fashion, once they had the deal. Dropped a huge classic album that killed the streets and radio. The album was straight gutter shyt that crossed over cause it was that dope and cashmoney became a major player. Solja rags is dope too,by the way. Comes back with tha g-code which is a dope album but in my opinion is was rolled out wrong. They had better songs they could of used as singles.

Then you got lil wayne: This lil 4 foot millionaire was a star in the making at a very young age. I was telling nikkas he'd be the man when he was 16 and although i wasnt a huge fan of the direction he took as an artist,he did d o just that. When his crew went belly up,he didnt run or show cowardice. He got on his shyt. Hit them streets hard. I remember what them squad up tapes meant in the street. Started killing features too. ANd blew cash money back up bigger than ever after they went through a time of being cold. Absolutely remarkable
Turk: not worth talking bout but i bought his album day 1.
In the midst of this they drop their second Hot Boy$ album which is classic and has songs like
We on fire,shoot first,i need a hot girl,help,tuesday & thursday etc

Now you got the lox: 3 dusty nikkas that were blessed to be signed to bad boy and dropped their first album in the time period that Bad boy had just released hiphop albums that went on to sale 11mil,7mil and 4 mil. That's an average of 7 million. The lox were featured on all 3 of these albums. They come out (10 months after big,7 months after puff and 3 months after mase) and sale 1mil. THat stinks. Even after selling out, spinning around in shimmering green overalls, and putting this single out

they FLOPPED! despite putting out the classic Money power respect (song). Guess people felt they werent shyt.
Later after their flop, dmx whom comes from the same camp blows up and drops albums that would go on to sale 4 mil,3 mil and 5 mil in a year and a half time frame. Eve does 2mil with her project.
The lox are desperate to get out of their contract with puff. Not only is the ship sinking, they're watching their team mates sale millions with the street vibe they wanted to display in the first place.
SO instead of riding like wayne did to blow back up cash money, they run off to get under dmx's nuts where they thought they'd fair alot better. (to their credit, the label was ran by their managers/mentors etc Dee & wahh.)
They get there and put out the uneventful album WE ARE THE STREETS,possessing no classic songs and being boring as watching paint dry. The album sales gold even though eve and x are killing it.
They put out some solo projects having more success than they did as a group but still fail to become power houses. They consider running back to puff, jada trys to run to jay-z but in the end they just end up being overrated NY mc's whom their fans make excuses for their underachieving ways. THE END

what fascination & emotion do i have for the lox? im a fan of the lox, but im not a big fan. IM A HUGE FAN of the hot boys tho. which i why i dont understand why yall keep trying to take this stance in here with me. it comes off like yall are reaching for something to say.

why keep bringing up record sales? that doesnt help you seeing that the lox sold more units as a group than the hot boys did.

so the lox are a flop because they didnt sell as much as the top sellers on their label? i guess cash money is one big flop, because to this day, nobody sold anywhere near as much as 400 degreez. they prolly didnt even outsell g-code.

im cool with yall so its no need to keep saying it. obviously, this isnt gonna get out of hand. but yall gotta just admit that yall out-the-loop on this one. i tried to make the kool g. rap comparison but it drew blanks in here.

wacky,i thought you was dead. Stop the sucka shyt. They're bums. And despite sales both those albums are basura. I'm shytting on these nikkas cause they're overrated like alot of east coast artists that so-called stay true to hiphop blah blah etc. If someone proves me wrong I CAN ACCEPT THAT AND ADMIT. You keep returning with weaker and weaker arguments that dont even remotely penetrate the shyt i posted.

so before it was all about sales, til you realized that the lox sold more group albums. now its "despite sales".

so the bolded is what this is really about? you just harbor bitterness towards the east coast?

youve already been proved wrong - by people from new orleans at that. not to mention that the people that put together that tournament, probably arent from the east coast either. and the fact that the lox were the group that got called out by the OP after watching that video is insanity.

also, i put together a superior tournament, and none of yall in here complaining came thru to represent. yall just yappin.

nikka I BEEN KNEW who sold more overall group albums. Hot boy$ only had one major release. I'm saying that's not the root of me not liking them.I use the sales because despite the climate they had (twice) they falied miserably. Also my shyt about the sales is 100%fact and a great point considering the circumstances. I can give opinions: they all sound boring on the mic, weak beats, weak hooks etc but no matter how strongly i feel,IT'S STILL OPINION.i CAN SAY I NEVER HEARD NOBODY BUMPIN THAT BULLshyt ALBUM,BUT I CANT PROVE THAT.
But it's a FACT,that they were placed center stage amongst 2 different cliques at their peak and they did 1mil while under bad boy's multiplat reign (with a recent 7mil average for rap albums)
and went gold when x was doing 4,3,5 mil and eve did 2. THEY DID DRAG-ON NUMBERS.
They were in the same camp, same time,so what's the common denominator? THEM! THEIR PRODUCT! IT WAS WACK!

Bitterness? As a whole, naw. But i strongly believe anyone from the east that stays true to so-called real hiphop,be it rapping or beats, get inflated props as long as they don't have monster success.

Jada was never the best out the group.

I have a bias towards the lox so I honestly couldn't answer.

its not about the hot boys having 1 major album. the point is, guerrilla warfare didnt do huge numbers. it went one times platinum, just like the LOX' debut. the lox album prolly sold more actually. also, do remember that the lox' major markets are bootleg capitals.

and by your logic, it would be a flop because juvenile was selling 5x and 2x by himself at the time. everything else that came out of that camp capped off at 1x tops. now do you see how ridiculous the sales argument is? could you imagine somebody telling you that kendrick lamar had more impact on hip-hop than the hot boys? you'd probably have a stroke, and rightfully so.

you say YOU never heard nobody bumpin the lox, but youre conveniently ignoring people from the hot boys' own town telling you that the lox was poppin.
