I didn't name any free agents did I ? The guy wants to try and say how trading Melo because how he might play at 34? The guys game isn't athleticism based . He doesn't like Melo that's his perogative but why can't cp3 go further than Melo in the playoffs ?? I saw jr smith become a sixth man of the year award winner last year why can't I give Melo credit for that improvement ? The whole defense argument is stupid because he admits he doesn't know how it will look with the new players and a whole season of shump and his first real training camp . Make assumptions based off last years division winning teams brehs . He gave a reason why the Knicks won't sign 3 of the free agents everyone else he's assuming takes the teams options ....I should just take his word for it ? Why can't we get rondo ?? The Knicks would lose a lot of ground by trading Melo for a bunch of second tier players but I guess since you and Lowe ignore elite offense and write that off you don't see his value .

What new players? Bargnani, who's one of the worst defenders in the league? MWP, who's hasn't been a great defender in at least 3 years? Beno Udrih? Please. Doesn't matter how much Shump improves on defense unless he grows 6 inches and helps out Chandler defending the rim.

And AGAIN, you didn't read the article properly. It's fine that you can sign a high priced FA or two, but at the cost of losing Chandler and Shumpert since Felton and Smith have player options? Is that really worth it? Not to mention they don't have any 1st round picks to help build around. The Big 3 model only worked in Miami because those guys took discounted deals; it hasn't really proven successful elsewhere.

Lowe didn't ignore elite offense. Nobody does. But the reason the Knicks have fallen short the last few years is their defense. This is FACT. And the fact that the Knicks added a few subpar defenders is highly unlikely to change this.

It's a Knicks bashing piece plain and simple , the team was picked to be 5-8 seed last year and won the division now they want to double up on how the Knicks couldn't possibly do it again . Best thing for the Knicks would be for Melo to sign elsewhere. Unfortunately, Amare got injured too much. If that didn't happen, the Knicks would of been a East Coference appearance team. Lowe defended the Knicks all last season when people were shytting on them, saying he thought they were legit when they ran out the gates early.

He says multiple times in the article that it's possible the Knicks can do damage if things break right for them, so I don't get how you read this as "a Knicks bashing piece plain and simple"

Dude knows his shyt, and he backs up his position in the piece. You can disagree with it, but you can't write the whole thing off because you think he hates the Knicks.
