I addressed your points by acknowledging the fact that Kobe would not be able to take advantage of any situation if he wasn't such a dominant, supremely skilled scorer. Top 5 player in the game during much of the Lakers dynasty era. It is his actual skill as opposed to anything the Spurs were doing that allowed him to have such success with the Lakers during that period and that is what should take precedence here. If Kobe wasn't the first option he was 1B because along with often taking more attempts than Shaq he was also the best facilitator on those Lakers teams. Getting others involved with his dribble penetration including Shaq. I also brought up his playoff success against the Spurs in the playoffs long after the departure of Shaq when the offense was constructed around him. Maybe you don't remember but he bent the Spurs over his leg and beat that ass in the 2008 WCF in a manner that we haven't seen any perimeter player do since..well Kobe himself back with the 3peat Lakers.

Bynum played like a bum in the playoffs. He wasn't healthy for any of our playoff runs. You're acting like a guy who averaged 6/3 in 09 and 8/7 in 2010 is a superstar. Those are the type of numbers Kedrick Perkins averaged when they won in 08 and I don't see anyone talking him up.

Kobe being a great scorer and all that doesn't change the fact that the Lakers were built around Shaq, Shaq was the 1st option, and the main focus of the opposing team. Kobe's great skill doesn't change the fact that those Spurs team were more focused on controlling Shaq than him. Nothing you've said refutes the fact that Shaq was the main man of the those Lakers team.

I didn't act like either was a superstar, just said they weren't bums. The difference between Perkins and Bynum is one can average those stats while missing a significant amount of games due to knee injuries

In those early years, the spurs were weak in the backcourt. undersized Antonio daniels, derek Anderson was never a factor then he got hurt and was gone after that. the SG spot was the weakest on the team. thats not saying much tho cause It was basically Duncan and no one else.
