at the world being a safe place again. Humans are just as bad as the infected, 1 vaccine ain't changing shyt breh. Humanity is far too gone in TLOU world. As Gizmo said, the games were never about finding a cure or the infected, they were about character studies, big cultural/social themes in an apocalyptic setting.
But Naughty Dog already did whatever the hell they wanted and so far they haven't found a new theme to start a Part III. So why we asking for that?
Using the main character of the previous game as a plot device like John Wick’s puppy and basically demanding you find a way to relate to and like the lunatic who traveled cross country to torture him to death in front of his family even as she remains unapologetic about it is not good writing. It’s even worse when the dynamic between the two leads was the entire appeal of the previous game and it’s sequel ends on a note of “everyone loses and nobody grows or betters themselves”. There’s a lot of interesting places they could be gone with the story and they chose to go a route that critics loved but half the audience hated because the guy in charge of the studio thinks he’s making something beyond a video game.

I agree. So hearing about it in a random story between NPCs or a note on the ground would be dope as fukk IMO. They were still significant characters in that world as we know it, but also a drop in the bucket at the same time
They fukked up the sequel for you that wanted something and didn't get it. That's fine. But they did not fukk up anything in the big picture. The game sold great, got every award possible and is being adapted in a very popular and critically acclaimed show.
