What a fresh new conversation.
I'm just responding to the comment. Punk was obviously not long for AEW, everyone expected him to flame out even earlier than he did. There was no chance he was ever going to have a long run for AEW. If it wasn't The Elite or Perry or Starks, it would have been 5 other guys. The writing was on the wall by the Brawl Out, he was never going to last long when he came back from that no matter what, so the idea that Punk vs MJF or anyone else in 2022 would have happened if not for that jackass Jack Perry is silly shyt.

A lot of the younger guys resented him, he resented a lot of the younger guys. Then all the people there over the years that had personal issues with him from years ago. Fire waiting to happen.

It ain’t just the younger guys that resented him.

Honestly there wasn't much ticket movement at all until Mercedes/Toni and Okada/Omega were announced but now it's steadily growing
Yeah, every update I was seeing from WrestleTix this year regarding All In was every 4-8 weeks and it was normally in the 600-400 tickets sales range. Hopefully it keeps this pace and even grows until showtime.

So basically there wasn’t much movement until the matches got announced:stopitslime:
For their first 3-4 years the movement was almost exclusively in the first few weeks of sales, then it barely matter what matches were announced until a final 14-7 day push before a show. It completely flipped since mid last year tbh.

For PPVs at least the presales normally do pretty big numbers and likely snatches up all the hardcores that are interested. From there it’s basically like “got to sell me on it before I’m buying” or “maybe I’ll get lucky and they’ll drop prices”

Yeah, lately it's been the initial presale rush and then nothing until about 10 days before the event when everything is announced. This recent push is likely attributed to the matches that have been announced. I think there will probably be a late push also once it gets into July.

'ALL OUT' on the other hand had a spectacular presale number. I think the recent PPVs being blassics have caught on with more than just the regular viewing audience.

It's hard to tell if the TV tapings would do better because they are still running the smaller venues.

I also think All Out was helped by ticket prices being reasonable after a couple of years were AEW was charging way too much. Or at least that's what I read from a couple of Canadian crehs :pachaha:

It seems to me the small venues have been a massive success. In terms of avg. attendance they doing pretty similar (I think it's still lower tbh) as mid-late 2023 and all of 2024 but getting 2-4k in small venues is much better than 3-5k in big ass arenas. They shouldn't pivot from the current model for a good while, imo.

Looks better on TV too.
