It seems to me the small venues have been a massive success. In terms of avg. attendance they doing pretty similar (I think it's still lower tbh) as mid-late 2023 and all of 2024 but getting 2-4k in small venues is much better than 3-5k in big ass arenas. They shouldn't pivot from the current model for a good while, imo.

Also probably saving a ton of money with renting those buildings versus NBA/NHL arenas.

I’d argue they should never pivot away from it unless they become red hot business wise. Revenue from ticket sales even at their peak attendance #s is absolutely dwarfed in comparison to the media money. Keep it at small venues to give a presentation that clearly differentiates it from WWE.

And if they were to go bigger I’d say they should make it to where floor seats are at the “premium” price points they are now and then everything else is like family affordable. Got to have some premium seats to keep perception of value up but you want to be sure you can be fairly affordable, especially when WWE is price gouging you.

But that makes it easier for scalpers/bots to buy them up then jack up the prices a ton on the resale market.

Yeah, at most they should do 1 arena Dynamite for a themed show every trimester if business starts picking up but that should be about it.

I feel like the consistency of the ppv events gives a bit of reassurance to ticket buyers even if limited matches have been announced, especially for the value provided given the cheapest tickets. Meaning that if the top section costs $40, it's not really a high price or anything like WWE or UFC, and where fans know they'll likely get a decent show with enough good matches to justify the cost and not no small card with lots of breaks.

Especially for local fans. I mean if AEW coming to your city for a ppv and you a regular or even semi-regular viewer, the cost isn't a bad investment for an evening of entertainment. The cheap seats should be the quickest to sell for that reason.

Kind of book yourself into that when you make it Okada vs. Omega for the first title holder.

Though I have concerns over how they will treat it as a 1B title without a brand split. If they wanted to make it the Collision main title and have legitimate main eventers involved with it on Collision that would be a good way to boost Collision. If you want more people watching it then book it to be every bit as important as Dynamite. And of course that means the Unified title is going to have to main event some PPVs over the World title.

Otherwise I don’t see how having two top titles on the same shows makes any sense.

Kind of silly to call it the Unified Championship with the AEW title still floating there. I'd assume they're going to eventually combine that title with it too.

I mean, we hear about companies wanting to make a "1B" Title every now and then but the idea mostly fizzles out after the first couple of reigns we've seen it in AEW with basically every single men's title, lol.
