That picture is from his first AEW title run. You can see Dark Order in the background. I'm guessing that tweet is old especially since he's been removed from being a teacher for a long time now.
I don’t think Threads existed during Hangman’s first run but I could be wrong.

HBO Max brought a whole new audience and the decision of the year (last year) was to expect this and essentially reset AEW on that first ep.

I've said it before, but if you watch the first ep in Max, iirc right after a big promo essentially introducing Moxs character, that he's the champ, and sort of setting out a challenge that there was no one that could stop him, the very next thing was a cut to Hangman entering for a match.

AEW did a very very good job with Hangman this year. Since day one just about every thing he's done has been very intentional. A lot of storytelling cues for new viewers that he's the One. But at the same time, not presenting him as "Hey this guy is a Big Deal and you should treat him as such" (MJF, Swerve), there has been a clear intention to make new viewers feel like they're seeing an ascendancy as much as continuing viewers feeling like they're watching a comeback.

Hangman's work this year doesn't need any qualifiers or exemptions. One of the best runs of all time.

The fact that casual viewers were all in for him v Mox all year but internet nerds were confused by this storyline until DON is very funny btw. The clearest example of how the IWC has worked itself into satire and how WWE storytelling has made so many of us toxic. Everything is something else, and nothing is going to make you happy.
Hangman’s character development in AEW from day one to now is amongst the best long-term character development in wrestling history.

Now hopefully his title reign is booked better than his first was and doesn’t get fukked up by an empty headed dumb fukk that took blood money covered dikk up the ass this year.

Def have enjoyed Hangman over the past year or so versus his original run and first title reign. Agree that his character has developed nicely. Some good mic work & great matches. Hopefully they do keep booking him well.

I guarantee that was probably one of the most fun shirts that guy ever designed. Back when I had to do some graphic/video work the dumbest, silliest shyt was the most fun. One time I clipped up a guy getting posterized on a dunk and synced it up with Jim Ross’ call of Mankind getting thrown off the hell in a cell :mjlol:

Did I waste entirely too much god damn time getting the audio synced up just right? Yes.

Was it fun as hell? Yes.

Would I do it again? 1000 times yes.

Vs. Bianca

"That night at WrestleMania will always live in my heart. Wrestling Bianca wasn’t just about a match; it was about making history.

We didn’t find out we were main eventing until about a day and a half before. I had been praying, manifesting, and hoping—and when they finally told us, I was overwhelmed.

Lying on the floor at the end, I watched Bianca’s husband run out to celebrate with her. Even though I was selling from the pain of the match, I couldn’t stop smiling. I thought to myself, “If I had seen this as a little girl, I can’t even imagine the kind of superstar I would’ve become.”

vs. Bayley

People often ask me about my top five matches of all time, and honestly, it’s hard to narrow it down—because I’ve been blessed with so many incredible opponents in my career.

But one match always comes to mind first: me vs. Bayley at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. That match was life-changing, not just for me but for women’s wrestling as a whole. It set a new standard, and I’m so proud of what we accomplished that night.

vs. Toni Storm

I’d been waiting for this one for a long time—five years, maybe more. Part of the reason I signed with AEW was because I wanted to wrestle Toni Storm. She’s become such an incredible character and a true star.

When the match finally happened at All In, everything felt aligned. The build-up, the energy, the entrance -was all perfect. Even before the bell rang, I could feel how special it was going to be.
