I can not believe anyone is investing in a professional amateur wrestling company in 2025. Every single attempt at anything like it has failed instantly, and to be helmed up by two absolute carny pieces of shyt like Hogan and Bischoff who proved they couldn't even run an actual wrestling company together without corporate accounting holding it up. Lmao. And after Hogan has gone full MAGA and this is going to be on Fox News streaming. fukking lmao.

I could see something like this being launched right after the Summer Olympics to piggyback off of any popularity, but not only is the timing completely wrong, but you have Hulk fukking Hoegan being the gatekeeper for amateur wrestling.

He's the ultimate shooter, brother. Scored takedowns on Angle and Brock in 2002 while in between flying his 400th day of the year.

First off, his feelings are hurt :dead: Second, didn't him and Hogan try counter programming against Raw and fail horribly?

Yes, very badly. If you ever want to delve into how Bischoff and Hogan (along with Russo) ruined TNA, The Lapsed Fan podcast broke it down like 2 years ago. It's fukking crazy how badly they fukked that company up. I didn't listen to all of it because there's a ton of episodes that break down like every little detail but it's wild.

Wonder if we see more AEW on HBO Max expansion once current international media deals expire? AEW is apparently doing very well in the UK so that could potentially be a big move for them.

They have that infrastructure built in now. 'Forbidden Door' in England this year. 'ALL IN' being in Wembley again. It's become their second home.

They need to sort the TV situation out here somehow. If you watch on ITV you're always so far behind you can basically never read the Internet. It's great that it's available but the scheduling is shyt.

Triller is great, but it costs more than Netflix for a whole lot less content.

I don't know what the rest of the content on Max is, especially over here with licenses resold to other broadcasters for HBO stuff already, but if it's halfway good they could easily scoop some of that Triller money.

And especially if the rumours about Triller circling the drain are true we're gonna need something to replace it.

HBO Max has a lot of great shows and movies. The HBO content alone is top tier television. Plus, all of the AEW content will be in Dolby Vision.

Thing is with the HBO stuff over here is most of it has been sold to Sky to show on exclusively on Sky Atlantic - that's where we get The Wire, Game of Thrones etc so if all that's going to be included they might need to renegotiate a few license conditions.

I think it's interesting that people are talking about Hangman winning the title as if it's his first time :jbhmm:

So either we're trying to erase the memories of his 1st (horrible) title run :scust:

Or it's a sign of AEW's growth :ehh:

Maybe a little bit of both. It's hard to pinpoint how many people are watching what these days. Cable itself has lost close to 50% of it's subscribers since the peak of cable 10-15 years ago. But with cable losing subs, streaming stepped in and then obviously social media ramped up as well.

An AEW video posted on their IG page just did close to 50 million views in a single day. People consume content in all types of ways. Their overall TV ratings are around the same but those don't include streaming on max or people consuming content on social media or their YouTube page, etc.
