Phone interview on Thursday and the recruiter let me know which points I may need to brush up on so I'll make some note cards between now and then. *crosses fingers* We got the update this morning on the "changes" being made at work. They claim we are stable and things are ok but...

I'm going through the same at my job. The hospital I work at was bought by a competing hospital. They increasing our healthcare costs and they gave us a 2% raise for cost of living adjustment; meanwhIle inflation is about 3%. So basically, I got just a raise to pay for the insurance. Also, there's a hiring /promotion/wage freeze. Yep, my resume is out there. If I'm lucky, i'll find something by the 1st quarter of 2016.

I'm holding out until January/February to start searching again. Holidays are always a bad time with hiring.

This day its seems like holding onto a job for 30+yrs is unheard of when you could switch up the resume a bit and go a different route for more money.

Yeah man good luck! Get that resume out there as soon as you can.

That's about how it went down here. I was on vacation last week and found out about some lay offs, updated my resume, put it out there and surprisingly got a call back. This is happening fast so I don't want to get too excited. My boss just asked today about hiring new people and they told him no for now. So IF I get this offer, I may see if they can beat it although I really want to start something new.

I think the best way to get more money is to switch jobs. No one has time to be kissing ass for 5 years just to get a BS promotion.

The days of being with a company for 20+ years been over. You should be looking to move up or out every 2 to 3 years.

:lupe: you live in the A right? Is your hospital in the Riverdale area? I thought the sale wasn't complete yet.
