I was looking at what 500k would get me on my current zip code and felt instant sadness because that same house would be 2.5milli in L.A.

I have been using Redfin to look up real estate in Houston :dead:. OMG you can live in a damn mansion for like 200K. I didn't know. WOW. All the homes are beautiful and perfectly set up too. The pictures of real estate hear looks like someone died in the bytch half the time.

You trying to live like a King or Queen after 30 stack up and move to the south.:blessed:

Yooo...woke up a little before 3am to go pee and smelled hella smoke - thought my tenants started a fire. I looked down the street, about 4-5 blocks away I watched as what looked like one house on fire quadrupled in size as I realized it was a fukking entire apartment building...like 30/40+ unit, 4-5 story building. I never seen nothing like that, hella embers raining from they sky all over my neighborhood (had me scared for my building :lupe:) then these explosions started :ooh: I opened my window and you could feel the heat slapping up against the building. Firefighters are still out there as apparently some town homes next to it have caught on fire. Hope everyone made it out ok

Personally I love it, the food, weather and people are great some of the best to be honest. But it all depends on where in the south your trying to live.
I always tell people that live in area's with higher cost of living that after they've matured and stacked up a bit that the south is way to perfect for living, I got friends that are paying almost 2k a month in rent for studio's on the east coast. 2k a month here will get you a VERY NICE house built with land.

Waking up every morning with sun shining in your home you built and on your land :banderas:

I'm in Houston and I like it but I'm also ready to see something else for the next 20 - 30yrs.

If you're always looking for something to do then major Texas cities (Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio) is where its at. You have to deal with humidity and 5 - 8 months of hot temps or bi-polar weather and traffic (because public transportation only takes you so far) but overall its legit.
