On first listen and even today i can put this on and not skip a track. This should have been promoted as an album instead of just old songs. It flowed to perfectly to just be some throwaway shyt. Wish they could have been on the albums like they were intended for. After Stillmatic and then the Lost Tapes dropped u couldn't tell me Nas wasn't that nikka. I even had lifelong Nas haters converting after hearing the Lost Tapes. With Illmatic IWW The Lost Tapes u can put those three albums against anybodys best three and Nas gone compete or win. Hell put Stillmatic LIG (which may be a 5 mic classic) God's Son/Untitled in there place and he still ain't to be fukked with. I just hope he blesses us with another Lost Tapes. Considering he just dropped an excellent album later this year around October or November would be perfect.

Amazing that Nas wasn't responsible for the tracklist. An A&R at Columbia handpicked each song. This album is up there with every classic you can think of. It's crazy that these are throwaway tracks of Nas going through a litany of topics on sick beats.
I don't drink, but I remember getting intoxicated by Drunk By Myself for the longest. So beautifully morbid.
This album is like fine wine, it keeps getting better overtime. I can't even pick the best song, because it changes with every listen.
Listening to this when the air is crisp is godlike.

Makes you wonder if it would be as good if Nas did pick the tracks himself. That was lightning in a bottle. The true "black album."

he met some chick wifed up to an nfl player, they schemed to kill her husband to get insurance money and split it, so nas killed him while he was fukkin his maid. they got the money but he got scared shed crack or talk about it so he gave her a bag of crushed glass n she snorted it and died, he was left with the cash
he also sent the maid to forge the wife's signature since they looked alike.
