As good as this album is, there are some subpar moments, mainly Amityville and Under the Influence.

Em's first verse on Amityville has always sounded like a throwaway to me. Then I remember hearing that joint was originally gonna have Pacewon and Young Zee alongside Bizarre and Em, but Pace said something that Em didn't like so he took 'em off, and that's what started the beef between the two. That's why that verse sounds like so weak, cause it was a rushed placeholder. And of course, Bizarre is wack about 90% of the time anyway. Em's last verse is dope though.

As for Under the Influence, it's not terrible but it's merely an average buffer song between the two heavy hitters on the album, "Kim" and "Criminal." I remember hearing someone on Youtube say that the album could have ended after "Kim" because their was no way he could have topped himself. I disagree, the album HAD to end with "Criminal" because it's basically "Just Don't Give a fukk part 3." So any song wedged between those two was going to sound weak in comparison.

Personally, I think the Eminem Show is the closest Eminem ever came to a classic album, but this is very dope too.

Also, I'm not sure when this song was actually made, but I assume it was made for this album. It probably didn't make it because they couldn't clear the sample (the chorus is from Madness' "Our House"). I really wish it did though.

I doubt it was Em who asked him but the story is Pace was supposedly asked to change his verse and got mad, I assume at Dre. At that point it seems like the choice was reach back for the Outz or D-12...I would imagine Proof was the deciding factor between the two.

I've heard about other stuff going on behind the scenes where Pace was supposedly being 2 faced, things like Lauren Hill allegedly clowning Outz for associating with a white boy that kinda created their "beef".

I would love to hear them spit together again.

Eminem's most flawless record IMO. Damn near classic. The track Kim should have been left on the cutting room floor tho.

I remember Vibe magazine in 2008 asked Dre did he see The Chronic as his defining effort and he was like he didn't feel like he had made his best record yet.

But he said he thought the closest he had gotten to his best was The Marshall Mathers LP but he still felt like he hadn't hit it "100 percent perfect".

the story was that Dre said there were too many features on the album and some had to get cut

I always wonder why Eminem has annoying ass accent voice unlike old Eminem 99-2003?.

I remember Eminem would spit the fire freestyle on the beat. Now Eminem would say "Cut the beat" before he's freestyling. I was like :wtf: happened to Eminem

Then I wonder he wasn't fukk with drugs anymore unlike old Eminem was heavily involved with drugs that he would be in zone like :lawd: that he would spit the fire.

Also, his best friend Proof is gone. He was depressed as fukk. Like he don't give a shyt anymore.

Lol....anybody remember this video?
