A shame we won’t ever get the real truth about that deal imo. The Grimes for Martin deal was bozo status as well.
The ownership is cheap. They weren’t trying to pay Luka $375 million when he’s known for being fat, out of shape and flames out in the playoffs every season.

Grimes would’ve had to be paid either this past summer or next summer, so that was another cost cutting move. Nico had to take the fall.

You know you’ve done something right when both the white folks and half white, light skinned dark skinned cracka mutt c00ns like @Gil Scott-Heroin hate you :mjlol:

Salute to Nico Harrison :salute: He was still right

Trying to point fingers between Nico & Dumont is pointless, they’re both idiots who signed off on a colossally horrible deal but at the end of the day the owner can’t fire himself

Even if Nico only traded Luka because he was told to, letting the Lakers bid against themselves and not even getting Reaves out of it was a monumental L

That said, it’s not hard to believe at all that a naive new owner could be convinced by his GM. Just hearing from Dumont speak you can tell he doesn’t know shyt about basketball, the Adelsons literally only bought the team for their casino

You have to be naive to believe a franchise player could get traded without the owners input. Clearly they made the call because they don’t want to pay him the max, either that or they agreed with the NBA that they’d give the Lakers their new franchise player if they get Flagg.

It’s a shame Nico is being the fall guy
Even if that’s the case not shopping him around and getting a bidding war going and only approaching one team when he’s one of the most valuable assets in the league was malpractice

They treated him like he was some overpaid bum they were thrilled to get anyone to take in the middle of the night

Just tank rest of year. Trade Kyrie and Davis when they are healthy again. You can recoup those missing 1st easily. Build around Flagg, Lively and top 5 pick in loaded draft

Let’s be real, dude is a scapegoat. Luka trade don’t happen without the owner’s AND Adam Silver's approval

Very weird shyt going on in the nba

What will be interesting is watching how Mavs fans react. If Flagg continues to improve and the fans all come back....that tells me that this has an element of racism in it. They just wanted to get a nigra out of a front office job because he got rid of their white savior.

If the fans stay mad and get those "sell the team" chants going, I'll respect it.

Luka was gone no matter what because the Adelson/Dumont wanted to save $$$. Hence all those ticket hikes. Nico's personal relationship with Luka gave them cover.

I know nikkas from out of town aren't going to understand this but Mavs fanbase is more affluent and white than the Cowboys (more diverse) or Rangers (white/Mexican but less $$$). Even listening to local radio and watching local news, they focus squarely on Nico and seem afraid to call out the ownership.

Silver gave them the sweetheart deal so Luka could be in Los Angeles. Mavs get to rebuild with a new white savior (this will take a few years) and the Zionist billionaires get to avoid the heat and let the Black man take the fall.

Anyone that thinks otherwise is not to be trusted.

Flames out in the playoffs every season yet took them to the Finals the year before.

Why do you always like to make yourself look stupid?

If ownership is cheap and didn’t want to pay Luka why are they paying AD, Kyrie and Klay 100s of millions when they’re broken down and in their mid-30s?
Salute to Nico Harrison :salute: He was still right
Just a minute ago you blamed ownership for being cheap as to why Luka was traded, but here you are trying to give credit to Nico for being right in trading him.

WTF.

Just log off and never come back on this site again.

Breh, he’s literally already done that.

:lolbron:

He’s publicly stated it was all his idea, he then took it to Dumont (who laughed at the thought of it) and then he convinced him trading Luka was best for the franchise. He let his ego get the best of him because Luka wouldn’t bend to his will (dating back to 2023). Once Cuban no longer had any say, that was Nico’s cue to put his plan into action.
lol naw that was the PR "united front, the future is bright" interview. I need the real explanation

Or maybe he's just that dumb. Sports attracts a lot of people with huge egos and no common sense at all levels. This shyt just doesn't add up lol

Just for AD to get predictably injured right after getting to the team, then show up to training camp out of shape :skip:
