This organization has gone completely downhill once they traded Grant Williams away. Big mistake.

let's be honest here. the fact that he was allowed to remain employed for 9 months after that luka trade is still :mindblown:
Saving face.

Ownership were desperate they could rekindle something out of this after realizing they made a catastrophic mistake. They had to wait it out for an appropriate period otherwise firing him sooner would’ve made them look more stupid than they already look.

They’d essentially be telling on themselves they got fooled into the worst decision in recent NBA history.

I feel for AD in all of this. He’s collateral damage, ending up somewhere where the fans don’t want him and blame him by proxy, the team won’t be competing for a title anytime soon, forced to pray through injuries due to the pressure of the trade and now will likely be traded somewhere else where he doesn’t want to go.

Let’s be real, dude is a scapegoat. Luka trade don’t happen without the owner’s approval

Very weird shyt going on in the nba
And like I said at the time the trade happened. If they told me to trade Luka I would have resigned. The bad PR on my name from being involved in that aint worth it.

Now look hes out of a job anyway

Feel bad for Luka and AD. Nico was goofy to think they had a win now window when the Mavs rely on somewhat hurt players and then you trade for one of, if not the most injured players in AD.

That was the most boom or bust trade you could of made, especially coming off a finals appearance.
