They had to do it. Nothing Nico could do will change the damage from the Luka trade.

Whoever the Mavs hire as GM needs to focus on building around Flagg and Lively. Get whatever you can for AD and Kyrie.

Of course not, but Nico wanted to trade him and convinced his idiot bosses that it was the right thing to do.
I don’t believe it bruh

I think new ownership wanted Luka outta there and told Nico find the best offer with his connections so the story don’t get out

There’s billions on the line with a player like Luka, I don’t think there’s any convincing them to trade him unless that’s what they already wanted to do

There was something deeper to that trade, I don’t believe Nico was the one to call the blitz on Luka; shyt just beyond stupid

Let’s be real, dude is a scapegoat. Luka trade don’t happen without the owner’s approval

Very weird shyt going on in the nba
shyt makes no sense. If I'm Nico I would sit down this week and do a full interview explaining everything from start to finish. He didn't just wake up one morning with the dumbest idea ever. Something led to this...

Feel bad for Luka and AD. Nico was goofy to think they had a win now window when the Mavs rely on somewhat hurt players and then you trade for one of, if not the most injured players in AD.

That was the most boom or bust trade you could of made, especially coming off a finals appearance.

Even if you’re in a “win now mode” wouldn’t it make sense to keep the guy who dragged you to the finals instead of a player who never got out of the first round when he was in Lukas spot trying to carry a franchise?

Dumont admitting he made a mistake listening to Nico's bullshyt. Dumbass ownership believing that snake oil salesman.

:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

They didn’t make any mistake. Those maga jews are salty because Texas won’t grant them a casino so they want to tank the value of the team to justify moving to LV. Nico is just the perfect fall guy to shield them. And Nico probably has a position with the lakers right now. Pure scumbaggery

Michael Finley taking the beer out of his hand after the WCF is a sign the organization was already chatting and not respectful of Luka

You right, Nico needa speak on this shyt asap if he can, general public thinking he called the shot here is foolery

Breh, he’s literally already done that.

:lolbron:

He’s publicly stated it was all his idea, he then took it to Dumont (who laughed at the thought of it) and then he convinced him trading Luka was best for the franchise. He let his ego get the best of him because Luka wouldn’t bend to his will (dating back to 2023). Once Cuban no longer had any say, that was Nico’s cue to put his plan into action.

You have to be naive to believe a franchise player could get traded without the owners input. Clearly they made the call because they don’t want to pay him the max, either that or they agreed with the NBA that they’d give the Lakers their new franchise player if they get Flagg.

It’s a shame Nico is being the fall guy
