Cuban knew exactly who he was selling to. He used that broadcast dot com money to buy the Mavs but was cash poor otherwise.Lol at people who were defending the trade and those now defending Nico. All of this started before the Mavs even went to the Finals and how he was firing people inside the organization close to Luka. Cuban and Dirk being pushed out. Whether all of this was his plan or he was just the dude doing the dirty work is irrelevant, the fact all of this went down means that they were on the same page. Did y'all think owners would fire themselves?

Jerry stays catching strays from local media. Mavs have the scrappy underdog persona so the media focuses 100% on Nico and does what ownership tells them. They would never let Jerry ride if Will McClay did some dumb shyt in the draft.

The Mavs were rushing back players from injury before the new owners took over. That’s how this shyt started. They were pushing/allowing Luka to play through his injuries and he couldn’t reset his body.
I spoke about this extensively when everyone was trying to kick jokes about him being fat.

I didn't realize Nico could make trades without permission from Adelson/Dumont.
Either the owners are extremely naive, in which case they need to sell the team to more competent people OR they wanted Luka gone but had different reasons from Nico (not wanting to pay the supermax, being less invested since the casino/arena ain't getting approved etc).
If Nico is so dumb yet was able to convince them to trade Luka, a cash cow that JUST got you to the Finals....should Mavs fans really want them owning the squad?
That's my issue. Getting rid of Nico doesn't mean shyt if the ownership is that bad. They jacked up ticket prices AFTER trading Luka and when the whole fanbase was pissed.
