What type of meditation do you guys do?

I've heard of a few techniques. Some say to be 100% focused on everything around you- just in the "now" form. Said that a meditating person should be impossible to sneak up on because their awareness is so heightened.

I've heard of just paying attention to breath. I've heard of trying to pay attention to nothing at all. I've heard of malas (beads), I've heard of mantras. I've heard of putting one thought in your head and paying attention to that.

I get stuck in the "am I doing this right?" and end up not doing it.

Account me, brehs.

Just found this free short (5 minute read) Kindle book:

Buddha in Blue Jeans: An Extremely Short Zen Guide to Sitting Quietly and Being Buddha
Poet and Zen Priest Tai Sheridan's 'Buddha in Blue Jeans' is an extremely short, simple, and straight forward universal guide to the practice of sitting quietly and being yourself, which is the same as being Buddha. Sitting quietly can teach many ways to accept life, meet pain, age gracefully, and die without regret. The book encourages sitting quietly every day.

Forgive me for neglecting this post, bro. I'll tell you a little bit about what I do, which changes from time to time.

Right now, I'm on the Deepak Chopra 21 day meditation, which is free. I'd get on that if I was you. They're about 20 minutes, with a 5 minute explanatory intro and 15 minutes of meditation. It consists of mantras which help you to open up, reaffirm beliefs and refocus if your thoughts begin to wander.

Aside from that, I mainly pain attention to breathing, exaggerating inhalation and exhalation. It's trippy that the longer you do it, you feel your energy rise and feel laser focus. I also do meditations that have you focus on sounds in the background, without mentally putting a definition to it or judging it.

I haven't done this in a while, but I try to hold myself to ending my days with 20 minutes of meditation with my eyes open, breathing and staring at a wall. It helps me with confidence, tuning out the mental bullshyt and keeps my brain sharp. It's also like building my muscles, because at the end of the day when I want to go to bed, I NEVER want to sit and meditate for 20 minutes. But by surrendering and doing it anyway, it builds toughness that you wouldn't believe, which will carry over into doing your work, hitting the gym, getting money, getting women or whatever is important to you.

I'm not super disciplined, but I'm on the path.

I'll meditating regularly twice a day for three months now. The improvements I've made in all parts of my life :banderas:
I've balanced my chakras, attracting abundance at every turn and also help more folks get in touch with their spiritual side.
I can't wait till the new year and seeing how much I grew in a year.

Also, meditating to binaural beats is great. I use guided meditation for chakra cleansing twice a day and once/twice meditation with the beats. I use different ones as well. Depending on what my body and mind needs.
