Somewhere in Chicago
:blessed:Going for 2 mile jogs before noon, hitting the gym which is gonna increase to five days a week once this winter kicks under way. Living minimal as fukk right now as well.

:lolbron: I was suppose to take a break from the coli, but I had to catch that World Series thread among a few others. So easily distracted I get.

Been spending more time with photography, getting my framing down pack and gonna go ahead and get started on this next project, also meeting so many chill people, so many entrepreneurs that I get inspired by, along with my fam who racking them degrees up. Everything is going in motion.

:salute: Ya'll brehs/brehttes take care, See you in '17. If anyone is interested, follow me on the gram.

Peace.

The irony of meditation is that it is an intellectual exercise which aims at non-intellectual realization. Meditation is inherently intellectual since there’s always a reason why one meditates. And if you observe, you will notice that most of the selling points for secular individuals are the physiological and mental benefits the practice can provide. Yet it’s mystery is that it can also provide psychological and spiritual empowerment.

Another irony is that though meditation is at our disposal at any moment, it’s not entirely free. Sure, at this moment, you can sit down and close your eyes, and begin to breathe, but if you’ve been taking in all manner of sensory data all day, you already know how frustrating and unrewarding an experience it can be, and all you will be left with is an attempt— like buying a lottery ticket and not winning.

The payment for meditation is ‘attention’— a hefty fee in the minds of those who feel they can’t control the direction of their mind at and by will, can’t sit still, or can’t “control their thoughts”. It’s also not free in the sense that it restricts the input of sensation by using discrimination to weed out unnecessary imprints. The majority of humans are slaves to sensation, so the practice of meditation can be seen as unaffordable and even sacrificial of the artificial limitlessness humans fantasize about. The five senses are the culprit here, as they inform man that all worthwhile experience must be derived from external stimuli, and that no significant benefit can be derived from an internal process. We know this to be invalid of course. The very nature of the five senses is to manipulate humans into serving them— making one believe that it has the value— that you must serve it for validation. Meditation holds the opposite to be true. Next to the celestial bodies, biology is the natural ruler of the human race, but meditation is a science which if persisted in, promises to make man a co-ruler:::

A1 post and meditation has illuminated to me the control that I have over my entire entire domain as a human.

I'm honestly having a hard time settling down to meditate. My mind goes nuts. I need to force myself into this.

Does anyone have any techniques? I find that I worry too much about if I'm breathing right. I've read that some people say to concentrate totally on the breath, while others say to not think about it at all.

You have probably discovered it all ready.

But for anyone else with this issue.

Start by focusing and bringing awareness to your breathing.

Everything, from inhalation to exhalation, be aware of it. Concentrate on it full and embrace.

That technique really helped me settle down and focus when meditating.

meditation is as important for mental health as exercise is for physical health.

i still find nothing harder than to sit down and observe my breath and let go of thoughts tho. my mind goes 1000mph 24 hours a day. its running loose.

thoughts will happen, its being aware of your thoughts in the moment, looking at them from a 10000 foot view and then discarding them and going back to your breath

I must say that meditation and manifestation is real. If you really focus and want to manifest something it can be done. I still sit back in amazement at myself a lot of times because so much of what I told myself and speaking into existence has come to pass. The universe is an awesome place. And your thoughts and actions definitely play a role
