Bane shot 32%/22% in the playoffs.
Believe it or not, still better numbers than what KCP did in the playoffs for Orlando this year

I honestly think they may not even have had to trade 4 picks if Memphis didn't have to take his contract on

Collin Sexton isn’t taking them to a higher level. It’s a patchwork fix.they could've got simons, pritchard, coby, sexton, etc for cheaper and potentially filled the pg slot as well.
overpay when you have to. not because your organization has some arbitrary rule about not trading guys during the season and your GM is too shook to even see what the trade/free agent market looks like when other teams get involved.
I've been driving the "KCP is overrated and people need to stop gassing him" train for years.Believe it or not, still better numbers than what KCP did in the playoffs for Orlando this year

Ain’t no buts.Hindsight 20/20 bc It worked out fine for them with two deep playoff runs but Minnesota could have had Walker Kessler on a rookie deal instead
The question was who else was available/cheaper. And its a fallacy Orlando put itself in with their weird ass philosophy of sign guys early and don't trade mid-season.Collin Sexton isn’t taking them to a higher level. It’s a patchwork fix.
Getting Simons was the move I assumed they’d try, but are you saying Simons can be every bit as impactful as Bane? If that’s the case then Simons’ price just went up a first and Portland might be more hesitant to move him.
Acquiring Coby requires Chicago to pick a lane which they’re not fully committing to.
And they tried the safe “it only costs money” route with KCP. It didn’t work.
its not even clear their core worksChanging of the guard
I’m talking about @Morethan1 not being first to post the news btw lol. Breh move them fingers
If Banchero gets hurt, that draft pick ain’t saving you.Bane was drafted 30th in the first round, dead last
Now mid first rounders don't mean anything to trade for this guy
Bane gives u the same numbers Cole+KCP did, difference is if someone like banchero gets hurt u don't have your draft pick
This is not a championship contending move
Which is why I'm going to assume that they think Bane can do a better job of creating his own shot and for everyone else than KCP. Otherwise, it's the same exact situation like you mentioned. The question was who else was available/cheaper. And its a fallacy Orlando put itself in with their weird ass philosophy of sign guys early and don't trade mid-season.
shyt, even the recent rookies they drafted have the same issue as their franchise player - and that's the lack reliable point guard play to set anyone up, build offensive cohesion, and be the release valve when playoff intensity picks up. Even bad teams know that slowing Orlando down just means sitting on their guys in halfcourt then waiting til the wheels falloff.
Its crazy because without a pg, bane runs into the exact same friction points that trips up the rest of Orlando. There aren't a lot of good 'next moves' after this.
Bane is an EXCELLENT fit for Orlando, spot on about thatKCP is washed and the Magic don’t give a shyt about Cole anymore he was out of the rotation most the season.
fukk those mid to late first rounders.
Great deal for Orlando…Bane fits like a glove. I swear people dislike this dude because he’s too buff.
20/6/5 on nearly 50/40/90 last season with above average D and smack dab in his prime.
Ever heard of Tim Duncan? If Banchero gets hurt, that draft pick ain’t saving you.
Exactly. If Bane continues to be BaneY’all are seriously overrating them picks
memphis off to a great start on that rebuild though at leastWhich is why I'm going to assume that they think Bane can do a better job of creating his own shot and for everyone else than KCP. Otherwise, it's the same exact situation like you mentioned.

When was Cole or KCP a borderline 50/40/90 guy averaging 20+ a game?Bane was drafted 30th in the first round, dead last
Now mid first rounders don't mean anything to trade for this guy
