I hear you breh. Thanks for the morale boosting. I’m just talking crazy. I’m buzzed off whisky and hard lemonade tbh. Need to relax. I just want to be functional. I’ve been depressed and anxious for so long. I feel like people have written me off. Just need help. I’m talking to a psychiatrist in a few days. Im gonna work at it

Not to simp, but it’s a two way street. Black men and women just don’t get each other and it’s sad. Black men don’t care about black women, but at least we get called out for it. Black women are deeply apathetic to black men and have never been criticized on a grand scale. It’s whatever though. I’ve realized that the black community is an illusion and our problems may never cease :yeshrug:

I disagree respectfully :francis:

I wanna hear what he has to say too. I feel like we should be way more empathetic to one another but that spirit is absent.

Men and women carrying trauma with no healing. No trust and not support. I'm glad that Black people are talking about mental health more often now. A lot of our own people are suffering with no help.

@Emeritus hit on a large part of it. There’s no trust, no support and no love in large parts of the black community. Too many black men view black women as adversaries and vice versa. A lot of our people are suffering with no help but also won’t let themselves get help. Black people are so fractured and it hurts me. I’d imagine it hurts y’all too. It’s hard to think of us as a legitimate community, when we put each other through so much hell.

Things are getting better tho. Discussing mental health is key to healing our people. I honestly believe that most of our problems are psychological. Things are changing

Thanks everyone for the support and open ears. I’m getting back on track. This is a new chapter and a new day. I’m working on myself and working on my attitude and perspective of life. I am going to be hugely successful and I know it. Just got to put in the work :blessed:

I overthink every situation and decision except social situations. I'm so flexible I became inflexible. Looking back on my life, if I had taken the simple answer at every turn I would be much further along in life. In any case, I've decided to put a deadline on the time it takes to make a decision though not without context. Context is still king. If I can't come up with something that'll put my mind to relative ease I'll trust the simple answer.

Chemical dependency and mental health are two sides of the same coin.

In other words, we have to get off the alcohol, weed, pills, etc before we can even address our mental health.

Until then, we just talking in circles.

Hate to break it to you.

There's free help available. AA, NA, LifeRing, etc.
