My friend, I'm not black and I'm guilty of using that word from time to time.
I agree, people shouldn't use it. Myself especially.

But this is a losing battle, man.

I lot of people I know use it but damnit I can't. This year has changed me. Travon Martin, 12 years a slave, Tea Party movement, and black people doing dumb shyt. We get mocked by other races but a lot of us look at it as a sign of endearment. A black person shouldn't feel that comfortable saying it. Even in music, it just doesn't sound right to me no more.

bruh...the use of the word nikka is the least of the problems facing black people. unemployment...out of child wed lock....the income disparity...brothas in prison....etc....

there is no quagmire...there is a distinct difference between the word nikka and ni**er. you and bill oreilly and anybody else that tries to use our use of nikka as reasoning for them to say ni**er.

and be honest...how many times have you been called a ni**er outside of the internet?

im almost 40 and i doubt its been more than once or twice...and i think that was a car of white kids driving past me or some shyt.

I used that movie as an example because it's current, somewhat relevant to the conversation and a film that young people should and probably would go and and see if the word of mouth hyped it to that point. Alot of us struggle with the use versus non use of the word and when its so supremely embedded in the very nature of today's culture, you flat out need a reality check to remind you of the origins of this word and to try to justify it with the whole "term of endearment" excuse that we've all heard in regard to the "nigg-A" form of ******.

i saw that film the other night and it reaffirmed that I personally need to chill with using nikka and ******, regardless of what music I listen to or how much I've heard it around me coming up.
