The nations only Black governor, Wes Moore, just blocked Maryland's reparation Taskforce bill.

You’re telling me everything I need to know about you when you say a case needs to be made for what was already OWED to FBA’s

House nikka wants us to have another study on slavery and if it was bad :dead:
Ok we obviously know you failed history class but you failed math class too.

So let me get this straight all FBA’s have to do is vote one time and 13% of the population will vote in reparations and we’ll get them.

Why didn’t Brother Fredrick Douglass Brother Martin Delany or even Sister Fannie Lou Hamer think of this?

During reconstruction when the 40 acres and a mule concept was drawn up and Black people were being installed and voting why didn’t they vote for reparations then?

Because we would’ve gotten them and cac’s would’ve said Rat’s foiled again They voted so we have to give it to them.

Never mind what happened in Wilimington when a coalition of Black Men and white c00ns voted and the “minority vote” won

Now that you’re the minority vote you can try it too.

So you feel a way about me not giving a shyt about Haiti...see how that works....

Same way how black immigrants look out for themselves...

I see it mutual

If he wanna focus on Haiti....by all means do you...but don't look for my vote
You’re the one just seeming to come to the conclusion that people operation in their own self interest.

We gotta get away from the slave mentality that someone else will do something for us.

Again vote your interests and maybe just maybe you’ll get a butta biscuit or two.

But if you’re expectiing to get equality handed to you anyone you lost.

You’d starve to death if you depended on me to feed you.

The coli is finally having a real discussion about something non JBO or gender war related and it’s going left.

Let me dunk of Black women and I’d be getting daps aplenty.

I like most Coli brehs believe in reparations for Black people I also like the coli in totality don’t believe that reparations will happen in my lifetime.

It seems like I’m against but I’m just taking emotional arguments and making sense of them.

No one really believes that Politicians work in the interests of their main constituents. This is not a new idea.

Whoever does his PR is doing a terrible job. This is going to backfire on him because people have long memories.
:yeshrug:
I would say historically they don’t.

I agree the short term optics are terrible but I can’t see this affecting him in anyway down the line.

I remember the NAACP ( when they were somewhat relevant) putting a boycott on South Carolina till they took down the confederate flag from the state capital building.

It didn’t come down till the Church massacre in Charleston.

The back of Mordith's mom's throat
Now, I don’t like his decision at all, but I do think that, again, we gotta put shyt in perspective.

“Black ass Maryland” is 50% White and 30% Black, 20% Hispanic & Asian.

Other races will not vote for Black politicians in major races/seats if they are explicitly running on reparations.
Y’all have got to realize that.

It’s been mentioned before- if we are voting in a politician who is running on reparations, it has to be on the LOCAL LEVEL, and we help push that person higher in the political realm because they will have to answer to the ppl who put them there (us).

Local government like- county board of supervisors, school board (curriculum; are local schools teaching the kids the truth about this nation’s history?), County executives, city council, mayors, etc.

Are we putting Black ppl who are advocating for us and our platform(s) in those positions I listed above? That’s where it starts.

I ain’t being funny but this is a case where I agree with @Wiseborn ; Moore has to answer to the ppl who put him in position. And no, that’s not just the voters; that’s the ppl who convinced him to enter politics. But even with that, he still had to get votes from a decent number of whites to win his state.

If anything he’s gonna have to try to enact policies that benefit Black folks in MD but are not explicitly for them, I guess like Obama tried. Remember this is Trump’s America and there are plenty of racist ass white ppl in MD too.
Once you leave the major areas and ride out, there are plenty of places where there are few to no Black ppl at all.
Respectfully, this is the same garbage Obama apologists push. He's in power, either you're about it or not.

Unless black older people start voting progressive this shyt Wes Moore did will be yesterdays news. They already trying to condition us into thinking reparations is so crazy idea.

before I concede this point are you talking about at the federal level only or at the local level?

I’d assume that Yvette Clarke did what all other CBC congressmen did ( you can consider that good or bad) and Yvette is born and bred in Flatbush but her parents are tethered in from Jamaica.

But if you’re talking about an Immigrant like say Brooklyn born Mia Love doing anything on the federal level for FBA No.

All nikkas are Party First Yvette Clarke gives you trickle down butta biscuits like medicaid and Mia Love gives you bootstrap platitudes.

But neither does nothing for FBA’s specifically but I can’t name a Politician Black or non Black FBA or non FBA that’s done nothing specifically for FBA’s either.

So it comes down to whether getting a butter biscuit is a good thing to you or not.

Man, woman, and child
I see the stragegery here. I mean why fund study that will likely recommend something that is both politically impossible and fiscally improbable?
This is the point I been trying to make. Maryland is broke. So where does the money for reparations come from? It damn sure ain’t coming from the federal government. So what’s the point in wasting money on a “study”?
