to do that all you have to do is miss 18 games.Are guys going to actively try to NOT be voted to All Star or All NBA teams to avoid this in the future? Does this fukk up incentivized contracts? How many games can players like peg leg hold up under these rules?

But would fans vote for someone just so they stay on the can't bench list? Sure.
The players only don't go harder to play because ultimately it keeps you on the court playing for more years. I think only Kevin Willis and Robert Parish had 20 year careers. Now that's gonna be more normal. Even relative disappointments will enjoy 15 year careers. Larry Bird at 35 averaged 20/10/7 in his final season but only played 45 games because injuries caught up to him. In today's climate, he gets another 5 years in the league on top of the 2 extra years he spent in college. That 7 years at max or near max money is crazy. The only downside is that more players wind up playing elsewhere because there's no room in the NBA and the spots don't go away as quickly.
