The nba to change its Load Management rules. NBA teams are no longer allowed to rest two star players at the same time. 1 million dollar plus fines

Are guys going to actively try to NOT be voted to All Star or All NBA teams to avoid this in the future? Does this fukk up incentivized contracts? How many games can players like peg leg hold up under these rules?

I can't wait for the fukkery :wow:
to do that all you have to do is miss 18 games.

But would fans vote for someone just so they stay on the can't bench list? Sure.

The players only don't go harder to play because ultimately it keeps you on the court playing for more years. I think only Kevin Willis and Robert Parish had 20 year careers. Now that's gonna be more normal. Even relative disappointments will enjoy 15 year careers. Larry Bird at 35 averaged 20/10/7 in his final season but only played 45 games because injuries caught up to him. In today's climate, he gets another 5 years in the league on top of the 2 extra years he spent in college. That 7 years at max or near max money is crazy. The only downside is that more players wind up playing elsewhere because there's no room in the NBA and the spots don't go away as quickly.

Players dont choose to sit. Teams tell players to rest. The whole discourse is disingenuous

this is not true

Kawhi would routinely tell the team in toronto when he was sitting and it would sometimes be an hour before tip. some teams probably decide but players are not pushing back but there's a large number of them that decide on their own and teams can't do anything about it

They'll find a way to attempt to circumvent it. I understand the lesuges position, though. Embarrassing that it's come to this.

Irrelevant. Teams will be fined, not players.

The NBA blatantly does that shyt. I don’t see the level of non injury rest in other leagues

Nobody trying to pay exorbitant prices and the best players in the stands healthy af wearing some bullshyt

the NBA clearly had to take a stand. how u gonna ask for new $75B TV deal when u got star players sitting out on nationally televised games??? :aicmon:

this shyt is clearly bad for business. and fans paying hundreds of dollars for their one game per year to attend in person don't want cats out here resting when they are healthy. it's bullshyt.

Exactly. shyt is a joke. You want the high salaries, start playing games, and play them hard. You’re hurting the future earning potential of the league

It's not lost on me that the constant bytching and moaning from fans about load management is only a thing with an overwhelmingly black League like the NBA because you don't see the same complaints in Soccer or Baseball Leagues where they do the exact same shyt.

It’s about what their tv partners want and it’s contract time. If you’re Amazon and NBA wants a billion dollars, you want assurances right?
