Not buying it. I think football is just gonna get bigger in large part because it's demographics actually WATCH games on television, whereas a large portion of basketball fans watch highlights on the internet the day after the game. As football demos get older they'll be even more tuned into television because what's what old people do lol.

NBA needs to find a way to get people to actually watch games in the season. Sure the ratings aren't horrible but last time I checked the NBA hasn't really matched the ratings of the later Jordan years. Biggest problem is they can't figure out how to make the network TV games matter. Those are the games that make the NFL pop on a weekly basis. Fox, CBS, NBC. ABC hasn't done a great job with the NBA and it's only gonna get worse when Bron retires...

the nba is the only sport that doesn’t have team rivalries. ‘Rivalries make regular season games matter

honestly if you compare the nba to other sports on things that capture people outside of the results the NBA has none of it

rivalries

players with a sense of proud for the team/ city they play in

If you can jog you can play. Imagine college basketball players or high school footballs having “load management”

NBA players treat playing in the nba more like a job Thayer required to clock in 8 hours a day to get paid instead of playing a sport and it shows itself in the lack of interest in the league with casual sports fans

There’s just too many basketball games in a season for the average viewer . I’m a basketball FAN I could watch that shyt every night. But the games have zero importance and impact in the average person eyes . Running back and forth for 82 games Star players missing months and shyt. Meanwhile nfl is 17weeks . SUNDAY night football is a big deal that the nba can’t compete with.
Yeah the biggest problem with this poll is it’s assuming those 16-25 year olds won’t turn into nfl fans. Those 16-25 year olds are eventually going to turn into 30+ year olds with a family and kids and aren’t interested in nightlife and shyt like that and will become interested in nfl Sunday, grilling and tailgating. You probably don’t watch as much football at that age cause your ass too busy nursing a hangover on Sunday.

And now with gambling being legalized. I’ve started to see plenty of my family members that knew nothing about sports betting and fantasy as we creep up in age start doing that more

I haven't watched a single bball game this season. However my TV stays on the NFL network.

NFL offseason is better than actual NBA games! And this from someone who was a hardcore fan for decades.

NBA games are nearly unwatchable to me now. NBA players are such bytches. At most I've watched like a quarter of two games.

Here's where the NFL separates itself from other leagues -

Every weekend of NFL games is marketed like an event. There's not only buildup from the game itself, but also other shyt like Fantasy Football, gambling, office pools, get together to watch games, etc. People who aren't even big NFL fans end up participating in some way shape or form.

The other sports will never be able to replicate what the NFL has created because there's just too many games in their schedules.

NFL lacks global presence of the NBA. Damn near half a billion Chinese people follow the NBA.
What does that matter?
China can cut off any team that politically doesn't agree with them.
Daryl Morey says some shyt. No more Rockets games in Xi- hougoung.
NFL straight up murders and rapists on teams. Put them on ESPN the next day.
The world at large doesn't care about basketball like they want you to believe.
