I turned on Buffalo sports radio cuz I always like to catch a quick listen of what the fans who experience these epic devastating losses are talking about :lolbron:........

and the hosts on WGR are putting a significant amount of blame on "a coin flip" and the OT rules.

:mjlol:

GTFOH. There was nothing wrong with the old OT rules either. Win the game in regulation or stop a nosebleed in OT and you don't have to worry about bytching because you called "tails" instead of "heads".

You lying they was talking about McDermott dumb ass

they should just stop using a coin flip

put the ball in the middle of the field. have each team pick a player and stand one the 10 yard line. team of the player who is fastest in a 40 yd dash to getting the ball is the one who gets it first. that with the current rules is perfect in my opinion. coin flip is wack

its basically a jump ball and would be one of the most exciting things in sports
Hell nah this ain’t the XFL

People saying the “defense needs to do their job”… I mean they did enough to get to overtime. It’s not like tweaking the OT rules will destroy the game.
You’re hurting your argument more than helping it here doggie

I've said for years that the rule should be no matter what if a team scores the other team gets a chance to match. If they do the next score wins and if they don't the game is over. I don't know why it can't be as simple as that.

Why do you think that is more simple than-stop the other team from scoring a TD?

I’ll ask you, since the OP ducked the question: If KC scores a TD then Buffalo score a TD then KC scores a TD and wins, how is that any more fair than what we saw yesterday? Winning the coin flip still gives KC the same advantage if the defenses are just going give up TDs like that.

There’s simply no good reason to play out those two initial drives in OT; being tied at the end of regulation already showed they were equal that day.

A game ends tied. The first team to score a TD wins in OT. How is what you're suggesting any different? Both teams had 4 quarters to score and it ended in a tie.

The reality is after the two drives when you say next score wins you are effectively at the same place as the beginning of OT now minus the coin toss. When you say next score wins you are placing the same burden on the defense the loser of the coin toss gets anyway because at that point if the defense doesn't get a stop they lose. All you're doing is prolonging the game out of an sense of obligation to have more drives.

I don't remember nearly as much crying about the overtime rules after that 28-3 Super Bowl ...

I wonder why :patrice:

Yea it makes perfect sense for Tyreek or Hardiman (after running all night long) to go run a 40 yard dash and pull a hammy :dahell:

pick a special teams speedster then. thats up to the coach and their strategy/risk tolerance

or maybe have the QBs have to throw a football through a target 20 yards deep, first to make it while the other misses gets the ball. similar to how you shoot for the ball in bassketball. iunno.

all im, saying is having the ball first should have to be earned via a skill and not luck

They just changed the rules though?:gucci:

the old rules was first to score wins the game PERIOD.

Now it’s first to get a touchdown.

Don’t blame the NFL or the rules, :mjtf:

blame the Bills DEFENSE. :unimpressed:

Had they stopped the Chiefs or held them to a FG they would’ve got the ball back.:what:

I side with my good friend @Chip Skylark :manny:
