Still more burden on the team that doesn't get the first possession.

Imo, if you change the OT rule change it to if you score the TD and convert a 2 point conversion from further out (5-10 yard line), then you get the auto win.

That way, there's at least risk and a decision to make for the team with the first possession. Go for the win and risk not getting it and the other team winning with a TD and extra point FG on the next possession, or take the extra point yourself and play it out and let the best team win.

Some burden is better than no chance at all.

They did have a chance, it’s called the defensive players earning their check too. If we just gonna ignore the defensive side of the ball why not just turn OT into a QB skills challenge and bring out some targets to hit?

Where was the outcry in 2019? I don't remember people calling for it to change when Mahomes was the one who didn't get to touch the ball.
Yes they did lol. It was the first subject on First Take, Undisputed, all of those shows. Stephen A. in particular, and of course Nick Wright, were heavy crying about it.

I don't think ppl want to completely do away with the "sudden death" element. But the fact is that there needs to at least be higher stakes for the team to end it if we keep it.

I think first team having a chance to end it with a 2 pt conversion from the 5 after a TD, while the other team has a chance to end it with a TD if they don't get it is as balanced as it'd get for both teams.

I simply want to see the Bills given a chance. Which they didn't. One drive. Win or go home. TD + 2 PT play

They were given a chance, a chance to stop them and they failed.
If this was a defensive battle with 2 qbs playing trash most folks would be like hurry up and get this over with:camby:

One possession each. If Team scores a FG. Opposing team has to score a TD. If Team scores a TD. They have to score a TD + 2 PT.

If a team punt. Sudden death.

Thats 50/50 fair.

Such a fukking simple solution
No if it gets changed it should be each team gets one guaranteed possession no FGs allowed you have to score a touchdown and you have to go for the 2 point conversion after. Keep going until somebody doesn't score a touchdown or somebody misses the 2 point conversion after.

That's if you want to make it a more offense focused affair.

This sounds better than all the stupid proposals in the thread so far. Plus it really would give some legitimacy to the QB vs QB narratives. :jbhmm:
