NFL did go on strike and the product stunk during that time, no thank u.

Why yall pocket watch players/leagues is beyond me. If NFL players so concerned, let them worry.

Yall constantly tell players to shut up and play. Yall as fans need to shut up and cheer.

 Did YOU do the same for Joe Barry and his "Defense"? :sas1: :sas2:  :lolbron:

Average career length in the NFL is 3 years and the average salary is $3M.

You're not going to convince the overwhelming majority of the union to miss out on one of those years so some bozo GM can sign players like Daniel Jones to $200M contracts :skip:

It’s funny, but I think the players who have it pound for pound the best of both groups overall are offensive linemen.

Compared to defenses they hardly take hits to the head and get paid bank for 17 total games. It’s still a taxing physical requirement but so is running on your feet for 82 games as a big NBA player.

A Left Tackle’s salary is crazy and many times they’re dropping back rather than brute forcing and initiating contact.

All Linemen have the worst risks of CTE and Mike Webster is still the man whose symptoms started all this research.

Wym get what they deserve if anything the top players probably make more than nba players if you factor in for instance steph takes up the equivalent of 6 players while someone like Joe borrow contract is worth the equivalent of 9 players. You can’t really use raw numbers because one is 53 man rosters while the other is 15 man rosters.

bu bu but the ratings!
:laff:

This is what my boy be on in the Group Chat.

Always bragging on how the NFL is the biggest and baddest with the ratings behind it.

Dudes crashing out on the field, literally risking their livelihood to to play football while cats like Ben Simmons raking in more than the current best NFL player

The true health of a league from the players perspective is likely reflected more in the average or minimum contract than at the top.

Although I admit it’s more nuanced than that.

I can agree but I think we also gotta factor in that those numbers I said don’t even factor in the other top players on the teams. The top 4 paid players on the bengals take up 25 equivalent roster spots. Also nfl teams can’t go over the cap at all. So really the average or minimum contract will never be high in the nfl. I also feel that’s why the nfl is so against fully guaranteed contracts because if a player gets hurt that pretty much fukks the whole franchise for years

NFL players are afraid to push the envelope.

The fact that the league is the most popular and makes the most money makes them look worse. NBA and MLB players make more money even though they’re clearly second and third in profits/popularity.

At this rate college players might make more than the average NFL player with NIL and endorsements. That’s why I don’t blame those players who be 28 still in college. :yeshrug:
