The nintendo switch is the best video game purchase ive ever made

The Wii U launched with a bunch of 3rd party games as well and they almost suffered from the same issues. Like being year(s) old ports with less content than the previous releases with only Tekken Tag 2 being the exception.

Oh and can't forget about EA's Wii U efforts, which was borderline sabotage.

And not everyone got bored of it. Just because these games coming out don't appeal to you, doesn't mean it doesn't to other people, and doesn't mean they ain't exist.

Would have been the dumbest decision to release Zelda/Mario/MK8D/Splatoon/ARMS/and Xenoblade (if it was done) all in march. The hell do you have for the rest of the year, and who the hell dropping 90 CAD for each game? And what do you drop for the holiday season?

I said nothing about releasing their big name games all in one month

But where are the 3rd party games that span multiple genres and where are the 3ds developers that people speculated would be making games for this unified system

Then you must have never bought a DS or PS2. The Switch is a nice concept but it's got a long way to go to prove it's worth to me. If that third party support and I mean serious support doesn't kick in were looking at a product maybe marginally better than the Wii U. In fact many of the high profile titles on this thing are still Wii U games.

It being portable doesn't make the same game potted over into a different game. I still have my Wii U so I'm not as impressed.

My coworkers keep bugging me to play Mario Kart. They don't have a Switch yet cause they can't find one.

I feel sorry for them so I bring it to work every now and then so we can play mario kart.

This is the ultimate social gaming device.

Everyone that sees me with it, even when I'm at Waffle House farming coins in Mario Kart while I eat, are fascinated by this little tablet, asking me all sorts of questions and complaining they can't find one.

I was at some work conference in charlotte two weeks ago and was playing it after lunch, had peeps coming up to me like ooh is that the new Nintendo i want one! So convenient. They see Zelda and are blown away.

Nintendo's goal is to sell 10 million this year to lure 3rd party publishers. I can definitely see them hitting the mark this time around cause everyone from all ages that's seen me playing this shyt on the go in both handheld and tablet mode wants one.

I've never got this kind of reaction from other past Nintendo, Sega and Sony handhelds I've owned.

Remember the Wii. The hardware couldn't handle PS3 and XB360 games so it rarely got them. The Switch demands a special amount of attention to get games from the PS4 and XBO running on it or non-demanding games like Disgaea 5.

Lots of people are distracted by the novelty of the TV to on the go play and the selling to notice but the Wii sold tons and outside of Nintendo games mostly got shovelware.

If it sells it will get quality third party support isn't necessarily true. It is especially not true when developers have to remake a game and downgrade it for the platform.

If all you want is low budget indie games and first party Nintendo titles it will deliver but if you're hoping for something more it's still a wait and see game.

The sales aren't the issue the real problem is how developers approach a console like this that requires a unique approach and that won't easily support their current efforts.

Because people already knew their shyt was garbage.

They really expected people to buy Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U, 7 months after it came out, without the DLC at full price, while at the same time release the Mass Effect Collection with all three games with the DLC and at a discount price?

And the sports games were LITERALLY repackaged versions of last years games.


And they delayed the Wii U version of Need For Speed for no reason, which was one of the most competent ports the Wii U ever gotten.

This is why EA can miss me with anything they say regarding the Switch version of FIFA, which I bet you will be a half assed port of the PS2 version of FIFA 2016

Xenoblade and Mario platformer coming this year also. Going to be a decent first year, particularly if Arms is good.

If 2-3 good games in a year is acceptable then you got it, breh. Have fun. From what I've heard, Mario Kart is an upgraded port of the one on Wii U. People beat Zelda and put the Switch down because there's not much else to do right now...

Mario Kart 9 would've made me pull the trigger on it at launch. I don't play video games on the go so the portability really isn't a selling point to me. I'll get one this Christmas for my kids when the new Mario game is out. I'll continue to play Mario Kart 8 on my Wii U

I don't play video games on the go either, but, I underestimated the convenience of being able to pick it up and take it to another room and keep playing. There's also times where someone else might be watching tv, and I don't care too much for what they're watching but I want to kick it with them in the same room. I didn't even have my switch for a full 24 hours yet and I immediately saw the benefit.

At the moment the thing is a portable Wii U and people are raving it's the best thing since sliced bread. Where were these people when the Wii U was out? Portability is the difference between something sucking and being great?
