What is the infatuation with Pau Gasol, with the emergence of Bestovic I don't see why they still entertain that trade. Keep the pick and draft an SG if one is there, if not take someone like Fab.
Royce White has a lot of potential, but he plays the same damn position as Love and Williams (Still a 4, needs to prove he's s 3 before I say he's one).
I mentioned somewhere that if there's legit interest, it's for the same reason Washington took Okafor and Ariza. There's not anyone that wants to go to Washington, so they used the cap space on 2 vets to help them for 2 years and then when they're gone, a ton of cap space opens up to re-up Wall and another star or two. Minny might be thinking the same thing. In 2 years, the only guys under contract would be Pek, Love, and Rubio (JJ and Derrick too but I'd be assuming they'd be part of any bigger trade). I personally don't want it because it guarantees not only that Wes starts, but that he plays 35 minutes a night. Nobody deserves to get Keith Closs'd more than Wes. Maybe it'll spark him to man up, but I've given up on him.
They also probably think Gasol would let Pek and Love get rest in a 3 man rotation (in theory I don't have much of problem with that, but someone's gonna have to sit during close games because they can't all 3 be on the court at once).
Personally I don't want Melo. Never mind the Syracuse stuff for a minute, he's a slow plodding project. We really don't need 3 slow bigs. If they wanna go the route of drafting a rim protector, then Kyle O'Quinn needs to be the guy. There's a guy named Bernard James from Florida State who's 27 years old, but if he was there at 58, I'd take him and put him in that 3rd big spot immediately. Arguably the best post defender in college. He just has a low stock because he's old as hell (the Brandon Weeden of this draft so to speak). At 58 it's worth a flier, and it's not like he'd be the first 27 year old this team takes in round 2.
As it looks right now, the only SG that will be there at 18 will be Barton and Jenkins, and if this team is doing their homework, maybe they feel they can trade back and still land them. At this point, all of the SG's are being moved to lotto status and the only one I'd really want is Jeremy Lamb.

This cat can probably shoot 50% from 3.
