ESPN analyst Tom Luginbill is a believer in the Florida Gators. He was in studio on ESPN Radio’s “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Monday and spoke highly of the Gators.

“If Florida emerges with a quarterback, Paul, I’m telling you right now, that is a College Football Playoff roster top to bottom,” Luginbill said. “Their roster and all the components that you look for? If a quarterback emerges, look out.”

RELATED: Is Malik Zaire pulling ahead in Gators’ quarterback race?

Redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks and Notre Dame graduate transfer Malik Zaire currently are battling for the job. Luginbill has said before that he does not believe Zaire will be successful at Florida, and he did not back down Monday, saying he believes it would be “naive” to think Zaire is the answer.

“Do I think (Zaire) will play? Yes,” Luginbill said. “Do I think they’ll use him as a runner to force defenses to prepare for an awful lot? I absolutely believe that will be the case, but I think Feleipe Franks will likely be the (starting) quarterback for Florida going into the season.”

Florida opens its season against Michigan on September 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

@Lucky_Lefty I'm not imagining things...Phil Steele said the same

FUKK A NOLE

These dudes are complete morons. Florida has a better chance of being 4-8 than making the playoffs.

I personally got them going 5-7.

They're schedule is really hard (playing Michigan and FSU out of conference = brutal). And their talent is overrated. They're close to #20 in the country in talent than the top 5 which is what Florida was used to recruiting under Muschamp compared to McElwain.

No. They play in the Big 12 where there is no defense and gimmick offenses.

Put them in the SEC and they're a less talented version of Texas A&M.
Mason Rudolph and James Washington will both be going early 1st round in the NFL draft. They probably have the best WR group in the country with Washington, Jalen McCleskey, Tyron Johnson(5 star transfer from LSU going to be a monster), Marcell Ateman, Chris Lacy and Tyrell Alexander. And they have a great RB in Justice Hill and a very good backup in Chubba Hubbard. Also 4 senior OL starting. So please stop talking about things u know nothing about. Their defense is plenty good enough to win the big 12. They might not fare well against Alabama or Ohio State in the playoffs but they have more than enough talent to get there.

Okie State is pretty good on offense, but their D holds them back
I mean their defense is all low 4 star/high 3 star guys not like they are complete scrubs. They have a good DL for the big 12, a great LB duo and a solid secondary. Its plenty good enough to win every game on their schedule with the offense they have.

They get Oklahoma, Kansas State, TCU and Baylor at home this year
