ESPN analyst Tom Luginbill is a believer in the Florida Gators. He was in studio on
ESPN Radio’s “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Monday and spoke highly of the Gators.
“If Florida emerges with a quarterback, Paul, I’m telling you right now, that is a College Football Playoff roster top to bottom,” Luginbill said. “Their roster and all the components that you look for? If a quarterback emerges, look out.”

Redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks and Notre Dame graduate transfer Malik Zaire currently are battling for the job. Luginbill has said before that
he does not believe Zaire will be successful at Florida, and he did not back down Monday, saying he believes it would be “naive” to think Zaire is the answer.
“Do I think (Zaire) will play? Yes,” Luginbill said. “Do I think they’ll use him as a runner to force defenses to prepare for an awful lot? I absolutely believe that will be the case, but I think Feleipe Franks will likely be the (starting) quarterback for Florida going into the season.”
Florida opens its season against Michigan on September 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
