um, ok

@42 Monks Hornets are up

@HiphopRelated I'll go to the Heat thread and alert y'all when y'all are ready

so does this mean that the Lakers promised Garland? also are both Garland and Reddish Klutch clients? because I recall Garland shut his workout at the combine down with the rumor of a promise.

so looks like the top 5 is

1.Pelicans-Zion
2.Grizz-JA
3.Knicks-RJ
4.Lakers-Garland
5.Cavs-Either Culver or Cam
6.Suns-White
7.Bulls- Either Cam or Hunter

But than again not sure why the Lakers will promise someone they would pick them because I'm under the assumption they are planning on trading the pick.

They're both Klutch. Garland's been marked to LA since he shut down workouts, since then he's been hanging out with Bron so it looks like a done deal he's going 4th. Whether he's the player the Lakers or Pels prefer @ 4 no one's said yet.

Then again the latest smokescreen out of NY is they like Culver so Barrett might be in play. Nobody knows what's going on lol

Why the fukk do teams give promises?

to shut the player down from working out with another team potentially causing an increase in draft position...

Correct.

Promising guys has burned teams before.

Yaroslav Korolev is the biggest example of a team being burned by a promise. Long story short, the Clippers made him a promise, but weren't expecting someone they wanted to fall to them. Instead of reneging on their promise, they took Korolev anyway to prove they were men of their word. Korolev proceeded to play 34 games in 2 years for the Clips after being drafted 12th overall and sucked.

He scored a total of 39 points in his career. 39! You can make a solid argument that on pure production alone this was the worst lottery pick ever of anyone who actually came over (I say that because Fran Vazquez was drafted right before Korolev and never came over)

Tre, who is it looking like we'll be able to pick from at 28?

Basketball Insiders new mock has us taking Dylan Windler from Belmont, which I don't think I'd mind, but I've seen a bunch of other names too...Whatchoo think?? I think I'd like Matisse Thybulle, but he'll be gone before we pick...

Other names on mocks in our range:
Luguentz Dort
Bruno Fernando
Grant Williams
Carsen Edwards
Jalen McDaniels

BTW, the Ringer has a pretty damn nice draft piece: https://nbadraft.theringer.com/

This like the 2013 draft except it has Zion

Every pick from 2 on to me is a best case scenario good starter
