Bauer was trying to get the Yankees to throw him a bag by trolling them on social media after the Rays sonned them. He might listen to what uncle Stevie has to say. If we can get the bullpen right, we can be straight. Look at how the Rays be marching arm after arm out their pen

I was thinking more about Bauer and here is the final offer I would make if money were no object.

35 a year 3 years max and I'll throw in some incentives. He wins cy young and I'll throw in another 5. That would easily make him the highest paid player in mlb history. I'd give him an opt out clause after 2 years. To protect the team in case of injury, I'd make year 2 a team option.

If he's healthy and effective there's no way they cut him.

Oh god, Bauer probably wouldn't do well in NY.

Relamuto is going to cost too much money, and he's getting up there in age.

Our main focus should be extending Conforto & Syndergaard to start. Beefing up the analytics department is a must.

I'm not surprised that the stories of the Wilpons being massively cheap are true.

The Rays, Dodgers, Astros, Yankees are the teams we should emulate. Analytics and building up our farm with the best scouts money can buy.

Word. The Dodgers and Rays especially, in my opinion. The Dodgers keep pulling talent out of their farm system, and it never seems to end. And the Rays are doing a great job of developing their players. I'm actually pulling for them to win it all. I know mlb is sick at the thought of a Tampa Atlanta world series

We need to kill the old Wilpon mindset of shopping at the dollar tree, our owner is Steve fukking Cohen. Go all in on Realmuto until Alvarez is ready. And once our free agents signings suck, Steve will treat them like Nino in New Jack

How official does this make it?

My Mets PTSD has fully kicked in, and I still halfway expect something to go horrifically wrong at the last minute
5-6 teams executives said yes. So guess instead of 23 owners we need 17 now. It would be weird if someone from the committee vetoed the deal a month later.

Who would you trade? I'm down to trade one core guy (Alonso, Smith, McNeil, Comforto, Davis) to get some more pitching but that's it.

Nimmo
McNeil
Davis
Rosario
Conforto if we don't plan on extending

I'd even dangle Seth Lugo too. I'd hold onto both 1Bmen tho.

Basically I wanna beef up the farm back to 2012-2015 levels, but include more than just pitchers.
Get a haul of prospects plus a major league caliber CF and fill in the empty holes in the lineup with free agent signings.

Honestly the two dudes I most want gone are Nimmo and Davis. They stay fukkin up in the field.

The free agency class is weak this off season. And I don't want to go as crazy as you because I believe if a guy proves he can perform in NY that's a major variable you don't have to be worry about with a FA.
If I had my choice McNeil is the one I would want to trade. He stays fukking up on the base pads.
If the DH is here to stay I'm down keeping both 1Bs to. But I also think either one would bring back the most value.
Nimmo you would barely get anything back, JD Davis is on the light side as well.
