I remember it was a big deal when the Yankees signed Jason Giambi the winter before the 2002 season started. Early in the season that Giambi signing was looking like a bust...... until he hit that game winning grand slam in extra innings in the rain in the video above



Giambi run with the Yankees overall was pretty forgettable outside of like two or three moments. The other moment was him getting a clutch hit against Pedro in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS. The other one I don't think anyone remembers but me there was some relief pitcher back then where Giambi was 3 for 3 against in his career with ALL the hits being Home Runs Michael Kay mentioned this early in the AB, then Giambi ended up hitting ANOTHER home run off of said relief pitcher Even though this happened in like 02 or 03 it was still one of the wildest things I ever seen watching sports.
