Georgia's Kirby Smart has received a new 10-year, $130 million deal that was approved by university officials Thursday in its annual athletics board of directors meeting. The deal makes Smart the highest-paid college football coach in the country and its first $13 million coach.

Smart, who was scheduled to earn $10.75 million this year under his old contract, will see his salary increase to $13 million annually, and that money is guaranteed for at least the first half of his contract. His new deal runs through the 2033 season. Smart could also earn up to $1.55 million in bonuses. He is entering his ninth season as Georgia's coach. His Bulldogs captured back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022 and won an SEC-record 29 straight games before losing to Alabama last season in the SEC championship game.

Most of these guys are used to being the man on every team they've ever been a part of, being levels above just about everyone they face. I'm thinking they expected pt, might've been promised pt, or thought they'd be better than those ahead of them on the depth charts.

You can’t really lie to these kids, Like that any more, you can say I’ll give you a chance to compete, but realistically it’s only so many snaps a kid can get a solid look, and even if you do good on all them you don’t necessarily crack the two deep just cuz. These kids be lying to themselves and setting themselves up to be a bench rider

Too many schools (lookin at YOU Michigan) don't want shyt to do with paying these kids. With alllllll that money they rakin in every year.. they don't wanna invest in those same damn kids that make them that damn money. If they won't willingly do it for the kids, then force'em.

Not all schools are losing droves of talent, and some of them are circumstantial, if you are a high pressure cooker like uga, uh yeah, when the 6 nikkas in front of you rang from fringe 5 star to top 100 to number 1-10 in the entire class, and that includes the nikkas behind you, like i said to whips, it’s only so many snaps if you even get a fair shake,
