Again I'm an A's fan ...no bias here....at the end of the day these small market owners are cheapskate Mfers....including The A's owner John Fisher......they have the money to spend but don't. . I agree tho a strike is on the way after the Dodgers win 3 chips in a row :manny:
I just read that teh A's owner is the 10th(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) wealthiest owner in MLB :gucci:

How tf does he get away with not spending?
I'm never gonna be in favor of a salary cap. Just have penalties/cap on deferrals, do more revenue sharing but also have a real floor. I'm not too well verse on the topic but that sounds solid to me.
Like what? Fine them? The Dodgers have multiple owners in their ownership group that are worth over 300 Billion.

They'd laugh at any fine and keep signin mf'ers because they can.

As for revenue sharing.. I think that if teams wanna continue to get an equal share like they have been, then there has to be a floor.

Penalties doesn't have to be money or only money. Hurt them in the regular draft, the international draft, or their farm in some way. They can get creative. Or it can simply be a cap on the amount/percentage you can have deferred on a contract or collectively as a team. I don't know how they'd draw it up but as of right now, its basically unlimited for them lol.

I really hate the dodgers more than any other team in sports right now. Seriously them and Their arrogant/spoiled/self-satisfied fanbase can go fukk themselves.

But I never expected tucker to come to the Blue Jays anyway. If he really wanted to be here in Toronto, he would have signed with us a long time ago. He was just waiting for a big market/high spending team like the dodgers, Mets or Yankees to make a offer that he couldn’t refuse. Once again, just like with ohtani 2 years ago, another coveted free agent used the jays as leverage to drive up the price on the free agent market and get the contract and term he wanted. The dodgers won the tucker derby/bidding war at the end.

:mindblown:
How are these numbers being calculated because Detroit definitely doesn't have a $200 million payroll.

Yeah I was gonna say, isn't that as a team what you're supposed to do.

Put the money you're making back into the team and keep getting better, so you make more money.

Yeah I know other teams can't do it on the level that the Dodgers can, but doesn't that mean they gotta move smarter and actually try to keep their players.

Isn't this the issues the Tigers are running into with Skubal and trying to low ball him.

Hell the Pirates gotta put a decent team around Skenes to get him to even want to stay and better yet, will they even offer Skenes the amount he can make going into the free market once his arbitration ends?

It's the Dodgers money AND their winning. Being a consistent winner attracts FA. Players want to win. If you are a FA and the Dodgers want you why would you go anywhere else? Look at Toronto, they had trouble attracting FA until this off season, it got easier. Winning helps a lot.

If they aren't breaking any rules I can't be mad at them. Also, players being attracted to the best team is on the players. I think it's a little bytchmade but this is their job. If I could be at an organization that makes my job easier and the organization is the leader of the industry I wouldn't care about "accepting a challenge" and working someplace where those 2 factors are less likely to happen either.

I don’t like the reaction to this Kyle Tucker contract. Everyone is saying baseball is broken. They are comparing Tucker’s deal to other star players.

The problem is that we are heading toward a lockout after the season. And this Tucker contract criticism gives the owners leverage to control the narrative. “Contracts are out of control, we need a salary cap. Blah blah blah”

And I’m siding with the players on just about everything. Never the owners.

This is why the dodgers can spend whatever on whoever . Nobody else in mlb has this advantage

They’re spending an extra 169 million in luxury taxes off tuckers contract alone just in ‘26

Even without that tv money they'd still be spending money. It's not their fault they got "grandfatherd" in because of a previous contract and even with all of that they were two outs away and one one run away with a runner on third from losing this past WS. At the end of the day they're spending the money they make while at least 50% of the rest of MLB doesn't give two shyts about winning and all they care about is the money.
