Is the dodgers overpaying for Tucker really moving the needle?

I guess it makes sense when freeman damn near retiring and if mookie is declining, but Tucker doesn’t see like a mookie or Freddie caliber player
Yeah, but there are no big time FA going to be available the next couple of off seasons. This is going to be the best player available for awhile had to get younger and get a high caliber player now. I agree, he's not Freddie or Mookie caliber but he's as close as you are going to get.

Had to do something, couldn't go into the season without signing some sort of bat, been saying it since the end of the season before the playoffs started. Mookie and Freddie can't continue to be the heart of your order.

I don’t like the reaction to this Kyle Tucker contract. Everyone is saying baseball is broken. They are comparing Tucker’s deal to other star players.

The problem is that we are heading toward a lockout after the season. And this Tucker contract criticism gives the owners leverage to control the narrative. “Contracts are out of control, we need a salary cap. Blah blah blah”

And I’m siding with the players on just about everything. Never the owners.
That's the confusing part.

I think fans are just as upset that he got $60 mil a year. The Dodgers compound the issue, but Tucker's salary is leading to some morons whining about the money THEY pay to attend a baseball game and are now mad at everything.

Even without that tv money they'd still be spending money. It's not their fault they got "grandfatherd" in because of a previous contract and even with all of that they were two outs away and one one run away with a runner on third from losing this past WS. At the end of the day they're spending the money they make while at least 50% of the rest of MLB doesn't give two shyts about winning and all they care about is the money.

:whoa: I don’t disagree , just saying dodgers have more dough to splurge off the tv deal alone and that’s not even mentioning ohtani Japanese sponsors/market
