A year ago people were writing like Murakami was going to be the top Japanese player on the market.
I read (and kinda felt) like he was the big fish the Yankees needed to solidify 3B.

Only 34M means there were serious doubts about whether he could handle Major League velocities.

Either way its a dub (or possible dub) for both sides

sox dont got a huge contract and they get to tap into that market

and if murakami goes off in these 2 years… he could really get that long term extension

:ehh:

Ohtani had the same concerns when he came over, although not to this extent. Regardless, Murakami will be 27 when this contract expires so he can still get a big contract if he proves himself.

For those who haven't kept track...

The Yankees -- the wealthiest franchise in professional baseball -- are in the midst of their longest World Series drought ever...and as of December 21st, their solutions are to sign:

Trent Grisham
Amed Rosario
Paul Blackburn
Ryan Yarbrough

:deadrose:
George would of given Soto a billion dollars

White Sox about 1-2 years away from being competitive again

Dude clearly had no market ,2 year contract to prove himself in mlb then becomes a fa at 27 again. If he can handle mlb pitching he’ll get 100+ mil in 2 years
